(June 27th, 2009)  michael jackson is rich again - following mj’s death, his album sales soared again. on Amazon it filled every spot on top10 bestselling music list (actually it filled all the way to 15th spot). it was the same on iTunes store (filling all the way to 9th spot). unfortunately all these money is of no benefit to him anymore, if not to his children. Finally Yahoo has opened its doors to publishers to submit their blog posts to Yahoo! Buzz (buzz.yahoo.com). This means higher traffic to those who write exceptional posts, and you could even get millions of visitors if your blog post is featured on yahoo’s main page yahoo.com.

How it works?

You go to http://buzz.yahoo.com/buttons and get a button of your choice. Integrate it into your blog. And finally keep doing what you are doing - writing good stuff!

Well, you could go ahead and start submitting your own contents (blog posts) to Yahoo! Buzz. But that’s not really a sustainable strategy for bringing in the traffic. Rather you should concentrate on writing quality posts and let your readers promote your posts.

So, after you have integrated the button in your blog. For the first time, someone has to submit it to Yahoo! Buzz, then the rest of the people will just vote for that post. The more the post gets votes, the more it will have a chance to be top news in Yahoo! Buzz. And if your post gets to be the best content, then it may be featured in Yahoo.com — potentially bringing in millions of visitors to your blog!

So why wait, go to http://buzz.yahoo.com/buttons and get your buttons! I have got mine already (done my part), now it’s for you to vote for my posts ;) (see button below)

Yahoo! Mail: Now with (web) messenger

If you have email account with yahoo, then you have probably been greeted with a similar window like below. It says: “Now you can chat inside Yahoo! Mail”. Finally!

I was expecting this to happen long time ago, since Yahoo Mail introduced new improved (optional) version. I hardly login to my yahoo messenger, most of the time I login when my friends ask me to come online. Or if I have a messenger conference with some clients. Otherwise my yahoo messenger just stays idle. Since I check my mail everyday, this new feature will allow me to keep in touch with my friends and people in my contact list more frequently (without logging into messenger).

You can set your status to any status and also see who are online from your contact list (address book). It shows the the number, upon clicking it will show the details of the contacts.

This is how the web chat looks inside the yahoo mail.

You can read more about this new feature at Yahoo! Mail Help.

Microsoft eyeing deal to buy Yahoo

Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo for $50 billion and asked Yahoo to resume acquisition talks. Yahoo! reportedly agreed.

Following the news Yahoo shares jumped 17.96 percent to $33.24 in Nasdaq trading on Friday, while Microsoft shares fell 1.26 percent to $30.58. The two companies have held informal talks over the years, but the latest approach comes as Microsoft seeks a deal to counter Google’s rapid growth.

If the deal goes through, how would MSN and Yahoo search engines operate? Would they stay separate or become one Search Engine? These are the questions bloggers would like to know, because different blogs have different search rankings in Yahoo and MSN results. Well, let’s wait and see.
