phpAdsNew is now OpenAds.org

New to this blog? See our Popular Posts section to get started, we have tons of great articles that can benefit you. Don't miss the upcoming interesting articles, subscribe to our RSS.

One of the most popular ad management scripts phpAdsNew has been rebranded as OpenAds. Good news is that, it will still stay FREE! (Open Source)

Google Adsense click-tracking integration
OpenAds now allows you to track your AdSense ads, previously phpAdsNew could only show the statistics for displaying the AdSense ads, but now it has the ability to track the clicks. OpenAds does not actually modify the HTML since that would be in violation of the Google AdSense terms and conditions. Instead, Google AdSense ads are automatically detected and handled as a special case using some clever Javascript techniques.

People at OpenAds say: “The developers behind Openads are the same people who brought you phpAdsNew, phpPgAds and Max Media Manager products. phpAdsNew users can rest assured that their favourite product - as Openads 2.0 - will receive continued support and planned development in the years to come.”

Well, that’s good to know! www.openads.org

Script for displaying any website’s screenshot - Free

Using the following script you can display any site’s screenshot in your html, similar to the one above. This is particularly useful for directory sites that want to show a screenshot along the listing details. Replace the url with your own. If you want to use this in your directory script then you should replace the url with your directory url variable, example: $URL

<img src=”http://msnsearch.srv.girafa.com/srv/i?s=MSNSEARCH&r=http://www.adesblog.com” align=absmiddle border=”1″ width=120 height=90>

As you might know Alexa.com also provides a similar service, but they charge $0.0002 / thumbnail shown (i.e. $0.20 per 1,000 thumbnails). For more details see aws.amazon.com/ast

Nice Javascript Gallery Script - Identical to Flash

javascript slideshow

Couloir.org uses a nice photo gallery that is programmed in javascript. It has all the features of a flash script, like preloading features and nice rollover effects that are normally not seen in javascript scripts. However these days we are seeing more advanced and usable javascripts, I have reported one such script here previously.

The author of Couloir.com was nice enough to provide the code for javascript photo gallery at this page, or you can directly download the script here.
