goDaddy.com - No osCommerce scripts please!

New to this blog? See our Popular Posts section to get started, we have tons of great articles that can benefit you. Don't miss the upcoming interesting articles, subscribe to our RSS.

goDaddy doesn’t stop surprising people. Recently I registered a hosting plan for one of my projects with them and since this project will be an online shop, I needed to install osCommerce. To my surprise goDaddy blocked osCommerce installations on all their shared hosting plans. I am not sure if you can install on their Dedicated Servers (I think it’s possible).

The good thing is that I can still use the hosting for my other projects, imagine if a normal person registers it and finds out that the hosting that he/she just registered is useless. I don’t know if you can get a refund for that. (I had purchased the hosting for 1 full year). Even if you could, I am sure it will take some time.

So next time you want to install osCommerce, goDaddy should be out of the list (unless it’s dedicated server).

Chicken and egg, not a paradox for me.

chicken or eggI often hear people say “it’s a chicken and egg situation” referring to something that cannot be solved or which is debatable.

Here is an ICQ program that brings up this topic in its installation process, asking people to solve this age old debate.

For me personally as a believer in One God this has not been a paradox at all, and certainly not an age-old debate. Because according to Islam, God created Adam in his adult form that means Adam was not born, Adam was not a child, Adam was not a teenager. He was created as is, in his adult form.

Same goes to the animals (including chicken) that they were created first. And then they went on to have baby animals and lay eggs. So simply said: “Chicken was there first”.

What do you think? It will be interesting to hear different people’s thoughts on this.

New PageRank update and it’s ups and downs…

Everybody is talking about PageRank update. Some are happy and some are not. Because higher page rank would mean more money for bloggers, for example JohnChow.com had a PR4 before, with the new update it’s PR6 now. John has already informed his blog readers that next month his ReviewMe rates will be $400 instead of the old $300.

The higher PageRank just made this blog a lot more valuable for me and a lot more expensive for advertisers. My ReviewMe price will be going to $400 next month. If you want a review at the current price of $300, make sure you get your order in before the end of this month.

AdesBlog’s PageRank stays the same, strong PR7. PR8 would have been great, but I am happy with my current page rank. If you are seeing the same PageRank for your blog, try to check at RankAlert, because it’s possible that you are seeing the data from the Data Center that is not updated yet. Google has some 72 data centers, so it will take some time (up to 1 week) to see the real (updated) page ranks.

If you want to have your text link on this PR7 blog, do let me know. Currently text links are priced at $150/month. Limited spots available. So hurry.
