Bookfinder - find and compare book prices

New to this blog? See our Popular Posts section to get started, we have tons of great articles that can benefit you. Don't miss the upcoming interesting articles, subscribe to our RSS.

If you can’t find a book in Amazon then this should be your next alternative. Because it has over 125 million books registered in the system. You can search for new, used, rare, out of print, international, and textbooks. But unlike Amazon when you find the book, this website will send you to the publisher’s site. So it’s not an online bookstore but merely search engine to find books.

Ships internationally, even used books

The good thing about this site is that it works in US and internationally, for international users it detects your origin of country and can search for books that can be shipped to your country. Because most of the time Amazon won’t ship used books internationally.

Find a cheaper book

Since it has many sources to search for books, it can also compare you prices and find you the cheapest book available in the network. I think this is the best feature. Because if you buy from Amazon you will get one price only (for new books).

Audio comments are the next big thing? I think so!

Browsing Yaro Starak’s blog, I noticed that he started using audio comments widget (see screenshot left) on his blog. When you select the person’s name in the widget, it will play that particular individual’s audio comment. What a great idea!

Clicking the footer link of the widget “MobaTalk Audio Comment System“, I signed up for the service. However upon logging in to my account, I saw no such service being offered by MobaTalk.

Doing a little research on Google, I found out that this service is actually offered by www.mychingo.com and it’s not a free service. It costs $3.95/month. Also the site says that the service is being taken over by MobaTalk soon. Aha, no wonder the footer link takes me MobaTalk website I told to myself ;) So they are in the process of integrating it to MobaTalk then.

I was quite tempted to subscribe for the service, but then I realized how you guys (my readers) are not so talkative type, so I decided not to. I hardly get text comments on my posts, I don’t think it will be worth to purchase an audio comment service just yet (i thought to myself).

Audio comments in the future

Nevertheless I think, it’s a great idea to have audio comments on the blog. I hope there will be some free services in the future. If it could be integrated to WordPress as a default commenting service, it would be even better. Readers could leave text comments, as well as audio comments on specific posts. It would also make the discussion a lot easier - replying to each other by text would be a thing of the past. Blogs would save space too, especially the ones that receive hundreds of comments per post (e.g JohnChow). Instead there would be only one widget at the bottom of the post.

Free idea for entrepreneurs

I believe there is no such audio commenting service for blogs yet. So if you are an entrepreneur, you can bank on this idea and make it a reality. I am 90% positive that it would be a success.

I wish I had the capacity to produce such a system. If I had, I definitely would. To give you some visualization of what I think the widget could look like, here is an illustration I have created:

So what do you think? Do you think one day we will be “audio commenting” in the blogosphere? It would be interesting to know what you guys think.

Ping: blog.guykawasaki.com (Let me ping Guy, he can make it reality. Afterall, it’s a better idea than truemors ;)

BuckDrop, create “buy me a coffee” links instantly

BuckDrop creates “buy me” links that you can place in your blog. The word can be customized when you are creating the link. People will pay you using PayPal or Google Checkout.

It simplfies the process of accepting money. You can use it to accept donations, Get PayPal pending auction payments or even to collect money from friends. It is simply a copy-paste thing and does not require you to register with BuckDrop or install anything.

I have created my own “Buy me a coffee” link, which will appear at the end of the post. So after this if you see that there is no post in AdesBlog for a day or two, you might want to buy me a coffee ;) Because I must be feeling too sleepy to write a post, since I often work at night.

Files-Upload.com - upload up to 1GB file size (free)

While there are tons of file sharing services on the net, very few of the offer what Files-Upload does. First of all, it’s a free service. Secondly you can upload files up to 1GB. And thirdly you can upload your files through FTP, which is more stable than most of the browser based uploads.

Only limitation for unregistered users is that, you can upload files that are not more than 300MB at a time. But registration is very simple and quick, so getting an account will be a big advantage. Because you will be able to manage your files under your account. www.files-upload.com
