User Interface Icons - 6 new icons added

New to this blog? See our Popular Posts section to get started, we have tons of great articles that can benefit you. Don't miss the upcoming interesting articles, subscribe to our RSS.

I have added six more new icons to my project UserInterfaceIcons.com. For those who are not familiar with UII, it’s a website that provides high quality user interface icons for free. No strings attached.

Latest Icons are: Podcast, Newsletter, Dialog Box, Notice Board, Vacancy and Forms. You may see them at what’s new page or download them here.

Feedbacks: Since the project launch, I have received tons of feedback. Most of them are emails thanking for the free icons. I have also received some feedbacks on the theme of the icons. They said while they liked the icons, the blue and yellow theme was not suitable for their web application. I have noted about this, and for the next icon-pack I will release realistic type of icons. Realistic type of icons are the ones, like you see on your Windows Desktop, each icon having its own unique colors. That way everybody will be able to use the icons. www.userinterfaceicons.com

IconFinder.net - Find free icons for your projects

IconFinder is a search engine for finding free icons for your projects. It’s similar to IconLet that I have posted previously.

I see that the icons in IconFinder are of great quality (see the images below), also the sizes are up to 128×128, not only limited to small sizes like 12×12 or 32×32. Licenses for all the images are under either of these three licenses: Creative Commons, GPL, and LGPL.

For more icons browse www.iconfinder.net

IconLet - Search Engine for Free Icons

iconlet search engine for iconsIconLet.com allows you to search for free icons. All icons in this search engine are under either GNU or Creative Commons licenses (see all licenses used). Basically these rules state that the icons are free and can be used in your projects, you can also modify them if you need to. You can use it in free or commercial projects. Please read the rules in detail for what you can do and cannot do with these icons.

Where is the old days that, when they said free, it was really free!? No strings attached. Actually, all these rules came out because of people, who abused the free stuff, i.e resell them under their own name/brand, claiming to be the creator of the free product and charge for it…etc Now that the rules are in place, you can actually trace back the free stuff to their original creators. And everybody is happy. Only thing is, you need to go through the rules thoroughly. At least once, before you start using them.

Thanks to Vido for letting me know about this site.

300+ Free Icons, Professionally Designed

Wait! Before you download them, look at the terms. It’s only for applications and websites that run on ASP. It says:

“You agree to use the icons presented on this website with ASP.NET, Mono, and ASP web applications (websites) only. The use of the icons on web applications (websites) built on PHP, Perl, ColdFusion and other platforms is not allowed.”

Too bad all my websites run on php. No harm to download and keep them for your next ASP based project. www.aspneticons.com
