Cool Ajax Rating Script

ajax rater rating script
You might have seen this kind of rating systems on some of the websites on the net, it’s easy and very usable – no drop down menus, no submit buttons, you just click on the star and you are done. All the calculations are then done at the background and the results are shown back to you with the latest ratings. That’s the power of Ajax!

This script has been developed by MasugaDesign, thanks to Ryan Masuga for making our life easier.

If you want to develop your own star rating system there is a tutorial at KomodoMedia.

Digglicious.com – Digg.com + Del.icio.us

DiggLicious is a mashup of two fantastic websites; digg.com and del.icio.us. It combines information from these two sites to provide lists of items that are being dugg and items that are being bookmarked on del.icio.us. The main page uses AJAX technology to automatically update the stories as they are being dugg and bookmarked.

Fixing the Back Button and Enabling Bookmarking for AJAX Apps

The problem

Everyone’s favourite AJAX technology app is Google Maps. Google have done a stunning job… But when I came to try to bookmark a page and I had to hunt around for ‘link to this page’ over on the right hand side. Why have they broken such a basic function of the web? I use bookmarks A LOT and the extra effort bothered me. I got over it though, and life went on.

Drag and drop events to change dates, drag the start/end of an event to create multi-day events, create and edit events without refreshing the page, all with an iCal style interface. Works in all major browsers (Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Internet Explorer). Neat! monket.net
