(June 27th, 2009)  michael jackson is rich again - following mj’s death, his album sales soared again. on Amazon it filled every spot on top10 bestselling music list (actually it filled all the way to 15th spot). it was the same on iTunes store (filling all the way to 9th spot). unfortunately all these money is of no benefit to him anymore, if not to his children. Solution: How to uninstall Adobe Acrobat completely

Ever since I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat 8 from my PC, every time I wanted to right click on any file or folder, I have been getting this pop-up window below (see screenshot).

.
The reason for this problem was because when you uninstall Adobe Acrobat, it doesn’t fully uninstalls itself; usually there will be some registry entries, broken files, empty folders… etc left on your PC. In order to solve the problem, you have to remove these files and registry entries manually as recommended by Adobe themselves here. But that’s a long, hassle way to do it. I needed a “one-click” solution if possible ;)
.
Solution

Windows Installer CleanUp Utility did the trick for me. After I installed this tool, I was able to see the Adobe Acrobat in the list and successfully removed it with one click.

Adobe Photoshop goes online

A year ago Adobe announced that it will be taking its popular photo editing software Adobe Photoshop online. Now it is a reality. Adobe Photoshop Express is an online version of Adobe Photoshop (screenshot below). It’s still in Beta. It runs on flash technology and requires your browser to have Flash Player 9.

To use this service, you need to register an account on the site. It’s a free service for now, I am not sure if they will be charging in the future.

While it’s said that it’s the online version of Photoshop, it does not have that many features. So it’s more like a basic online photo editing tool. But I am sure Adobe will be introducing a lot more features in the future.

Fauxto, online photo editing tool in flash

Fauxto is an online photo editing tool that is similar to Photoshop. Interface looks exactly the same, I hope they are not infringing any Adobe copyrights. Otherwise they will be in big trouble.

Other than that, it’s a cool application. It’s especially useful if you are out - using some PC that does not have Photoshop in it. You can use this online tool and still manage to edit your pics. (Of course the PC should have internet connection ;) Too bad the keyboard shortcuts do not work in this application.

Early this year Adobe announced that it will be launching online version of their Photoshop. I am not sure when they will announce it, and if it will be in flash environment.

Adobe announces flash-based Media Player

Adobe has entered the Desktop Media Player market, its flash based player apparently works online and offline and allows you to share, tag and rate videos (it sounds like a stand-alone YouTube player to me).

In a related topic, Adobe’s Creative Suite 3 hits store shelves. Adobe Systems has released in four packages the next generation of its design and Web applications. All four packages include new versions of Bridge and Version Cue for content management, Stock Photos for stock art and Acrobat Connect for Web conferencing. Device Central, which emulates how designs will play on mobile devices, is also included.

Adobe Press - Lots of free online tutorials…

adobe press

Nobody really checks the Adobe’s official press site for Photoshop Tutorials, rather webmasters prefer sites like Good-Tutorials.com and Tutorialized.com for user submitted tutorials. However I should say that Adobe’s site is worth visiting, it has a large amount of tutorials on their products. They also have total of 76 tutorials on Macromedia products that they have acquired.

Almost all the tutorials are from the books that Adobe Press have published.

Adobe Photoshop - Online version soon

Photoshop CS2

Adobe Systems plans to release an online version of its Adobe Photoshop in six months, the company’s chief executive said Tuesday. Wow, what a move! (Not sure if it’s a smart move though). Most normal PCs cannot even run Adobe Photoshop properly, because the program is just too huge and eats up all the memory. Imagine an online version, what kind of connection and PC you will need to run the online version?

I guess it will be a simpler version of Photoshop, and I hope it will be free. Your thoughts?
