Google is already into it as we all know it, they are trying to figure it out at the moment. But there are so many great products and services can be built for bringing internet to the TV. Just a food for thought!

Google for me is that the source of inspiration. Starting from the idea that they had in studio time to one of the most influential companies in the world. I like the Google of the occupant in follow-up, but all the time developing more and more ideas. And the idea of Internet + TV is very good, because the Internet is becoming increasingly popular.
I definitely agree that internet tv is a new trend that is set to explode. More and more tv shows are online. It’s just a matter of time until you can watch any show online. I don’t know how much business opportunity there really is for the small guy though. When Google is getting into this niche, you know they’re going to eat up a lot of the competition.
Wow that’s great, but we feel in current time students are wasting so much time on these social networking sites like facebook, twitter etc. just to do some facebook status updates etc. & when TV will come on internet then there are some chance they will waste more time until they will not use it for there studies & knowledge…
Amazing is how several contributed internet videos turned to be popular series with an overwhelming audience. So among the regular TV shows, there are and will be internet shows only available here, which will most likely be the strong point.
Just within the last year so many television shows have gotten online. I think it will only continue to grow. But, I do agree with the first commentor, in that I don’t think that there will be much entrepreneurial opportunity there for the little guy. Once the big fish have been hooked, then there is only a very small slice of the pie left to fight over.
Its really the future of watching your favorite channels on computer with the help of internet.
Most of the companies offering such great program in abroad and very soon it will in full motion in India…
TV moving towards the internet is definitely the wave of the future, there is no denying it, just look at sites like Hulu and everything that has come out in recent years, can’t wait to see the landscape in 5 years from now.

Have you try Google Chrome TV? It is a very good plugin for Chrome Browser where you can watch tv base on the country that you choose =)

i worried about new wave internet TVs can be unsuccesful. Because there huge amount of TV company already stream via internet. for example if you use firefox and have a TV-fox addon, you can watch most of them on your pc.

It’s definitely the way of the future. With it now being easily possible to geo target advertisements, I don’t know why every major network doesn’t have a fulltime internet feed. I would pay for it just like paying for any regular channel to my TV company.
I like watching TV online because it let me monitor my online job and at the same time can watch TV =)
emm. this is good and i believe many people already notice about that internet tv idea. Just not many people know about this in my country.
When you can do voice over IP and video conference over the Internet, watching TV on the Internet will be the next biggest idea. As some of you have said, the technology is not there yet, but it will get better eventually. I am spending 100s of dollars to watch TV channels through satellite. I would love to connect my Flat screen tv to the internet and watch TV programs and movies in its original Resolution and HIGH Definition. That would be so cool. :)
I have been doing Internet TV for quite a while now and I totally love it. I have had my computer hooked up to my TV. I am looking forward to it being built into the TV so that it is easier to navigate and get good content. Plus this means a huge amount of campanies can compete not just my local dish and cable company.

With people leading more and more fast paced and busy lives, internet TV is definitely the future. Being able to log on, click on the latest episode of your favorite show is definitely easier than having to set your DVR and do all that. Not to mention the ease of reaching a truly global audience by way of geotargeting advertisments.
I too am very excited about the possibilities of internet TV. In my opinion it is the TV of the future and I can see it becoming very widespread throughout the world.

Yes I’ve seen these sites hit the market and I personally like them. They are convenient and fast, especially if your on the go and you have a laptop. I recently got Rogers on demand and I watched quit a few movies :)

The problem is that alot of consumer computers don’t have the speed or cpu capabilities to stream movies or tv as consistently as a normal cable feed. Not to mention internet speed.

Watching videos on Youtube was just leading the way to internet TV. You notice that all the major networks have started having HD replays of their series on the net after it’s broadcast… they know what’s coming…
Hi Ade, I agree with Aluminium Carrying Cases that there is not much opportunity for a small guy.
However, I still do not think that Internet+TV is the next big thing. I think the advances in online/social gaming will as more and more people are spending their time online gaming (from all ages). So it will definitely be interesting to see.

I have been waiting forever for internet TV. I haven’t used a television since the switch to digital because I never bought one of those converter boxes. All I been using currently is youtube and hulu to get my TV show fix. I would love an HD live television website. Anyhow thanks for sharing Ades.

I totally agree – the only reason TV is still competing with internet is because it has constent content flowing – the internet is set up (today) as a database that you have to hunt for information within. If internet gets to have TV – it’ll win for sure.

For me, TV is history. I sold it 2 years ago and have since watched only ice hockey and football world cups on television. They are great in pubs and bars if there is a big sports event.

I don’t believe that the dot(com) era will finish. Google still value high content websites which are updated regularly. Moreover, a lot of people still lack high speed internet which might be a problem for internet + tv.
However, I do agree that the new trend will be internet + tv.
internet tv sounds good.. all we need for this is huge fiber optic cables to transfer such huge data at lighting fast speed but i do agree its the next big thing.
I have no doubt internet TV will be huge in 3/4 years time from now, just like video was going to be huge but the infrastructure to support takes some time to implement, however that has happened and look at youtube, when infrastructure/memory/hardward improves even more, getting real time no-lag TV will be easy, can’t wait!
My Thoughts are that, Internet TV Should be available to everyone in the world. Because, Internet TV is the biggest technology of communication.

Another reason why I think internet TV will be huge is because you can save programmes easier than on a tv – pvr/dvr’s are just so big and clunky

This would be cool. I read that samsung and google are developing internet TV’s with touch screens. that will be even cooler but we will have to clean the screen a lot more :) (nachos, beer, etc)
