Get Facebook “Like” Button for your blog

Have you gotten Facebook’s “Like” button for your blog yet? If not you can generate one here.

If you need WP Plugin version, you can get it here. Once implemented, plugin will generate “Like” button for each post, similar to the one you see on top of this post. You can customize the position (top-right, top-left, bottom-right, bottom-left…etc).

P.S I have integrated to my blog already. So, if you like any of the blog posts, don’t forget to “Like” them! :) Thanks!

Is this will affect the on site otpimization ? I think the design and plugin will differ in the SEO for a certain site.

The like button plus creating a fan page is well worth the effort. The viral nature of facebook will definitely increase your traffic, as it did for us.
You can keep in touch with your customers or readers through your fan page. It’s like building a list (email).

  4. This is a good way to benefit from the great visitor potential of Facebbok. Some webmasters do that on their own so that they can get visitors from FB. Thank for this info.

  5. Thanks for the info Ades.
I’ll put “like” button on my blog :)

  6. So Facebook now want to be a social bookmarking site too? I wouldn’t want my FB profile to fill up with my ‘likes’, but it could be handy for showing something interesting to my friends.

  7. I think it is a great thing that people are starting to integrate facebook with their blogs. It will definitely make it easier to share good articles with your friends and co workers via Facebook.

Hey there! I tried it on one of my posts and I think it’s working okay:

although it seems to leave a big space at the bottom… did I place the code correctly?

Now I have made that announcement, I wonder who really needs this button and who has access to the data? Why are Facebook users are so eager to tell the world all the things they like, even when they’re not on the Facebook site.

  11. harvz says:

i definitely like the “like” widget compared to the “share”, its much more intuitive like digg which lets you “digg it”

I need to do better on facebook. I agree that it definitely is a good idea to link your blog to your fan page. I’m in the process of figuring out how to make our fan page for our insurance agency successful.

  13. i believe many people will like it.

  14. Hey this is an amazing development for FaceBook. It makes FB like StumbleUpon.com so that people can tell others about which sites they ‘like’ – very powerful effect on major players like Bing, Yahoo and Google. It will channel visitors around differently. Geoff D.

  15. I don’t like. Facebook is too intrusive, as previosly stated. A billion other people will most propably disagree with me though ;-)

  16. I won’t be adding this to my website anytime soon. I’m not one of those facebook addicts and I’m not going to help them increase their market share.

    Hi there Ades!

I haven’t been here for a while, and it is good to see that you’re still carrying on and doing the good work.

The “Like” button is going to incorporate facebook into our lives even more. It is an astute tactical move from them to make the word “Like” synonymous with and universal to facebook.

Keep well, nice chatting here again!

Now if you look at profiles they’re making your interests links to commercial sites or pay to download MP3 sites…

It’s going to take over I think.

Here’s the best WordPress plugin around (full support for Open Graph, translated in 10 languages):

  20. Yes I added the FB ‘like’ button to my blog, too. It is a very powerful way of connecting with potentially thousands of people and broadcasting your thoughts. e.g. I have over 2,000 friends in FB and I will click your ‘like’ because i do enjoy your blog, Ade. Geoff

  21. IMO it’s good like button on every post, so we can judge people interested post.

  22. PHP Tutorial says:

nice tipp, i already put the button on my site.

  23. used tires says:

It can certainly be a very valuable tool for businesses to get more in touch with their target market. A site could work with Facebook to display ads that are more in common with areas of interest of the user by way of the information about him on Facebook. Of course, this shouldn’t be too intrusive. But used properly, it could benefit everyone.

    Till then,

    Jean

  24. Ether says:

Although i like the idea of this, i will not put it on any of my websites because i don’t like the “iframe” tag in the code. It slows down page loading…

  25. Facebook has revolutionized a lot of areas in the internet. This like button can greatly help us to promote our blog in Facebook communities and reach more audience.

Hopefully they can provide one for Blogger blogs as I am more inclined to Blogger than WordPress…

  26. I have seen this feature on some fancy blogs, I think but especially heard that people get more “like” votes from it because of how it looks . . . I didn’t really bothered (as I don’t want to overdress my blog) – but maybe I should try this too.

  27. You can choose to have the button display “like” or “recommend”. I think the recommend button is better for services and the like button is better for blogs and news. But the button itself is definitely the future of all websites. The bandwagon is moving… jump on it.

  28. Have you noticed a traffic increase from FB after you started using this button?

  29. mimar says:

Some webmasters do that on their own so that they can get visitors from FB. Thank for this info.

  30. Funny, I have been looking for the facebook plugin to add to my site, however reading some of your comments I might have to do some research cause I would really hate to slow down my site. Thanks for the post.

  31. A facebook like button is very important since it helps in establishing a reader base for your blog.

  32. Was desperately searching a way of adding the LIKE button on a tab of a facebook fan page. The like button has been implemented on a facebook fan page at
    http://www.facebook.com/webwhispers

  33. The like button works well for sites that use Facebook but I don’t see many taking on the advantages that Facebook can generate. They should realize first that Facebook can be a very helpful tool in their traffic generation and SEO.

  34. So, if you like any of the blog posts, don’t forget to “Like” them! :) Thanks!

  35. That Facebook like button is hot stuff, hot enough to have Google developing their own.

  36. Thanks for providing useful information…. Upto now I neither get anybody’s like nor I liked somebody’s page.. I’ll definitely implement it..

  37. It’s a cool thing to have these like buttons. Please continue providing useful information. It helped me a lot. Thank you.
