photo by heatingoilTWENTY TEN is here! What this year awaits for the bloggers? Let’s try to forecast some of the things that might happen in this year. I go first:

  1. Mobile Internet will be the key drive for the year for the Internet related industries, that means more smartphones, more iphones, more mobile and web applications will be launched. That means TechCrunch will be mostly talking about iPhone and Android apps the whole year :)
  2. Android Market will grow many-folds and finally become the Apple’s rightly competitor.
  3. Facebook usage will slow down. That means it will be as if you are back to pre-Facebook years. You will lose touch with most of your old friends again.
  4. Twitter will be acquired (probably by Google).
  5. More blogs will be shut down, be it personal or make money online.

OK readers, now please leave your 5 predictions for the year 2010 in the comments section. Let’s make it a long list. It will be interesting to read for everyone!

Please share this list with your friends and ask them to put in theirs.

The number 4 and 5 prediction is close to reality. I must say, that twitter will be acquired, Big Time and that, more sites will be shutting down due to monopoly.

Why do you think more blogs will be shut down? If anything, I would think more and more blogs would open up. Most blogs never really get shut down either. Usually the blogger just stops updating.

Maybe it will be a new year for touch screen tablet, thanks to iSlate :D

Google is coming up with their new phone tomorrow! And I don’t think Twitter is looking for a buyout. I think they are going to monetize the site and build it, a la Facebook.

Hallo everybody, and all the best for you all for 2010. It is resolution and prediction time, and I resolve not to make any predictions this time round. The trend is definitely towards mobile, and I see smartphones becoming smarter and smarter and more affordable to the masses.

  19. By pen tablet on Jan 7, 2010

Mobile internet is in my opinion the most important here. Everything goes mobile and with internet accessible from almost every place in the country we will finally become men of new informative era. This could mean that information will be even more cheap and accessible from every corner.

  20. By Laptop Briefcases on Jan 8, 2010

Mobile internet definitely is a growing trend, but I think it is still a little ways from being super important. Cell phone coverage is still lacking and phone companies are still charging too much for data plans.

1 - making money online will be more popular
2 - more and more people are going to engage in blogging and internet marketing
3 - more social networking sites are going to emerge
4 - wordpress will be more flexible (lol)
5 - online job will be in demand!

2010 will be the year of the internet through both mobile media and small notebooks. Looking at all the mobi domains sold, and seeing many of the larger companies have started to develope mobile website applications. I guess within 5 years %15 of websites will be searched for through mobile

I think its quite true about that we will become men of new informative era as mobile with internet does go well in the entire world.

  27. By Marketing Man on Jan 15, 2010

That Apple tablet is now the subject of so many rumours and so much speculation that I feel it is right around the corner. Apparently it will be well priced too, which will expose a larger amount of people to their products.

  28. By Bidet on Jan 16, 2010

I think the mobile market will increase a lot and all of the new tablets that are coming out will do good. I think Android’s market will also grow greatly and match Apple’s market
