Google and You

Google’s Chrome Operating System is imminent. When it launches and when you start using it (believe me, you will be using it, because it’s free), Google will basically know everything about you. Well, Google already knows tons of info about you, but with Chrome OS it will know even more…

It’s not a bad thing per se as long as they (Google and US Gov) won’t misuse it (remember the phone tapping issue in US?). Because all it takes is another “terrorist” attack and US Gov can successfully use any technology needed for their “homeland security” purposes. The result will be of course, lots of innocent people being arrested and spending portion of their precious lives in secret prisons all over the world.

Let’s hope that won’t be the case…

What is Google Chrome OS

.

As you can see above, Chrome OS will be the fastest OS out there. I will probably use it too, that’s because anything Google launches, I will use it :) I am sure you do too…

But let’s take this post as a reminder and be careful when it comes to dealing with privacy issues, not only with Google but with any other websites, applications, software etc that collect our personal info.

Well, seems like Google will slowly wipe out even Microsoft one day… I just imagine how will their operating system will be called.

Maybe Googledows? Definitelly sounds more amusing than windows…

  2. mini laptop says:

To be frank, there are many people who are not fans of Google for this only reason. Many people are skeptical in using many Google’s features for this privacy issues. Many do not use Google toolbar for the reason they might be tracked for their user behaviors. Again Google OS might pull some market share from MS, but I am sure they may not be able to draw attention.
As Chrome vs IE went popular declining, this will also be.
While G is great in search, MS is great in OS and I think neither of them can beat each other in their battle ground.
Any ways I saw an interesting article from a Forrester guy. You may read that in http://blogs.forrester.com/srm/2009/11/chrome-os-is-coming-and-it-is-impressive.html

  3. I am not using google chrome OS, I am listening from other blogger that it is good, ok I will try it.

  4. I am really looking forward to this. Pretty excited. But I think it will be a big problem for the people who have slow internet connections as the files and programs are being saved at a remote google server so it depends on how fast your internet is else you will have to wait for a long time to access your files.

  5. valencia says:

I cant wait to get try this os :)
    Looks promising!

  6. GDI Blog says:

i will be waiting for this :)

  7. For now Chrome OS is going to be cloud based only, but soon it will be a standalone. It is Linux based, so it will not be too long before it will function as well, and most propably better than the offerings from Ubuntu and others.

  8. This forthcoming chrom operating system will definitely able to know more than yourself about you rathr than google is knowing.

  9. this amazing! but how about the internet is slow? how are you going to access the files or maybe watch videos and listen to your music?

  10. clickonpost says:

hmm interesting first time when i heard about that. Maybe it will be so nice like windows. And for free i think OS with potential.

  11. There’s a virtual machine of Google Chrome floating around out there that gives you good insight into Google Chrome. I think it could be useful for netbooks, but I would never use it as my primary OS on my primary computer. If you don’t have an internet connection (which does happen sometimes *GASP*) you can’t use it. As far as privacy goes, if you’re on the Internet, you have to assume that you have none.

  12. Personally I won’t be trying the first version of the Chrome OS. I might try a later version after they clear most major bugs and glitches. I don’t have a whole lot of faith in Google’s programming abilities.

  13. mini laptop says:

@Laptop Briefcases: Why don’t you join and try their beta version, mate. They might award you with gifts if you give a nice bug for the biggies to fix… lol, give it a short buddy :)

  14. used tires says:

    Till then,

  21. MNAttorney says:

You raise a very interesting point. It is also going to be very intriguing to see how Google combats and handles these privacy issues, concerns, and the negative publicity already shown towards Chrome. For example, the German Government having already warned their citizens to obtain from using Chrome. Either way, I am excited to see how Google will continue to improve this idea. They do have something that is truly genius.

  30. CouponGuy says:

Wow, that is incredible. 1st time I’ve heard about Crome OS. I’m impressed with crome but I also like FF and all it’s extensions so I’m not bothering to much to make the switch. Even though FF is a memory hog, it’s a great web browser. On the other hand their is nothing like Crome OS on the marketing place. This will be very interesting to see how the market takes it.

  31. Interesting, it’ll be take time for me to learn about it.
    Thanks Ades.

  32. PS3 says:

A new invention of Google. I think I should try it.

  33. Good video of Google Chrome OS. I am waiting for this os.

  34. What is the dirfference between google crome and google crome os? can anyone help

  35. With Google gradually gaining more and more access to our personal info, I’m sure many of us are worried about the privacy issues. People assume a certain amount of privacy and that privacy can be abused when so much info can be readily accessed.

  36. used tires says:

I will definitely be using the Google Chrome OS, but with your take on it and this point, it is a bit of a wake up call to me, and for me to be-careful what I am searching etc, as you never know who is watching.

    Till then,

    Jean

  37. Now with the prior release of Google Chrome, the operating system market will heat up a lot. It will not take to lose market share to Microsoft in OS with the popularization of Free Software.

    Tks

  38. Louie says:

This is great. Now with Google Chrome, browsing would be much faster and searching sites would be a lot easier. This would be a great help for me when I’m doing my paper writing for my research papers.

Got something to say? Go for it!
