- 79.79% failed to provide a homepage URL
- 75.86% of users have not entered a bio in their profile
- 68.68% have not specified a location
- 55.50% are not following anyone
- 54.88% have never tweeted
- 52.71% have no followers
Seems like half of twitter-nation is inactive, 54.88% have never tweeted. And half of them has no followers (52.71%).

But this is true for most websites. People start an account just to access some functions and then never log in again. Serious websites clean inactive accounts every once in a while.

yeah its a waste not to put url…the stats are great, at least now I have a picture on whats happening in the twitter world.
I have to admit, that I was one of those people. I had a twitter account but actually had no idea what to do with it, so I just deleted it. I think a lot of people would have heard all about twitter in the hype but wouldn’t have known much about how to use it.
It seems that twitters marketing potential is lying largely dormant, but the cool thing is that it will be easy to identify active from non-active accounts….

There is obviously loads of parking of keyword rich twitter usernames going on! Jump in now while the going is still good!
A lot of them are ghost accounts. You can buy 100 followers for $5. All you get are 100 fake accounts, created only to follow people who pay for them!

around 50% have no followers? Thats big number.
I wonder how many Twitter accounts are merely spam accounts (not created to be used by humans).
Very surprising statics of Twitter, means lot of people only creates a/c but doing noting and some of don’t know usage of Twitter.
Thats very interesting for such a popular site. You’d think they’d save some server space and do some clearing out!!! I guess they want the user-base though!
2010 and the twitter fad will be through I think. I don’t see the point of it myself. However, im on it for now!

There is another very interesting figure that I saw in one of the sites:
- 30% of users of Twitter, use its services no more than 3 months.
Half of the twitter network is inactive. Yea I think maybe a lot of them are spam accounts.

So it sounds like a lot of people sign up and then just forget about it.
“54.88% have never tweeted, 52.71% have no followers” I would have to fit into both these categories for now, but don’t worry ill get started soon.
