There seems to be quite a few MP3 split/cut software created/advertised recently, as opposed to comprehensive mp3 editors (e.g. media monkey free version), which are few.

Maybe there is a increasing trend/demand to easily trim mp3’s for mobile phone ring tones, embedding in blog/web sites, and converting to iPod format, amongst others.

Also an indication that the mp3 format is still important for associated software creators and hardware mp3/iPod manufacturer’s as it seems to be the back back bone of such industries…

That’s a nice little piece of software, thanks. I gotta say, I usualy import the file into windows movie maker, cut it, export it to wmv and then encode it into mp3. It’s a lot more timeconsuming process.

you can cut it using windows movie maker, but it’ll be saved as WMA file - you just put in the audio track and no picture. which you can then get converted back into MP3 online.

Audio book cutter is cutting the MP3 files directly without conversions etc. The tiny tool is really fast and it already save me hours because it splits in the silent sections - not in the middle of a word!

You can go onto garageband if you have a mac and cut the music, or you can buy the ringtones at the itunes store, or sometimes download them off some internet sharing websites.
