Microsoft is releasing yet again new operating system Windows 7 sometime in October this year. That means there is a huge opportunity to make money for everyone especially for bloggers, since most of them are good in setting up websites, doing basic SEO and promoting it on the net.
So how would you make money around Windows 7? The possibilities are many. You could setup a tech forum for Windows 7, or make a wallpaper site, or tips & tricks site, or Windows 7 hacks site etc – all of which are very popular segments for previous versions of Windows OS; XP and Vista.

The idea is simple, basically you are going to use first mover advantage and try to be the authority website in your niche, to make your site popular and high traffic. And then put up some ads (adsense etc) and enjoy the fruits. Or sell the site and get a huge pay for it.
Alternatively you could make money referring people to buy Windows 7 to Amazon or to other Microsoft partners that have affiliate programs.

This time I am planning to make at least one website related to Windows 7 and see if I can make money out of it. The idea came after reading Larry’s post here. Larry is one of the people who have made substantial amount of money from previous similar opportunities, he is trying again this time with Windows 7. (Good luck Larry!)

This is actually something I was think of too. Well the tech forum. The problem is i dont have acccess to any beta products etc so its hard to initiate conversation at the moment, however, hopefully a ‘friend’ can pass me some of this Windows 7 goldmine :)

Surely the already setup Vista and XP sites will just add W7 to their pages and claim 99% of the market!?
Worth a try though, and I might just add an affiliate link to a W7 wallpaper site to my blog.

I only read this post after the one that actually followed on this one, and am now getting to understand what the Windows 7 story was all about. It does seem like a great niche, one well worth exploring. Keep us posted with your progress please.

If you could set up a windows 7 help board and get it to the first place in google now, before it hits the shelves you’d earn a ton of money in october or whenever they finaly release it.

I’ve noticed that Google rewards the first website on a topic by keeping it on top of the SERPS longer than normal. Great idea to start a website on a trend, product, or new idea right at the beginning.
Although Microsoft will be the top result for the term “Windows 7,” there are many niches where Microsoft won’t be, including: Windows 7 Lessons, Windows 7 Books, Windows 7 Forum, Windows 7 Expert, etc.

I’d keep the old operating system just in case 7 is a failure. Bleeding edge usually costs more than just money.
