Windows 7 - Time to Make Money

windows 7Microsoft is releasing yet again new operating system Windows 7 sometime in October this year. That means there is a huge opportunity to make money for everyone especially for bloggers, since most of them are good in setting up websites, doing basic SEO and promoting it on the net.

So how would you make money around Windows 7? The possibilities are many. You could setup a tech forum for Windows 7, or make a wallpaper site, or tips & tricks site, or Windows 7 hacks site etc - all of which are very popular segments for previous versions of Windows OS; XP and Vista.

Tell me more…

The idea is simple, basically you are going to use first mover advantage and try to be the authority website in your niche, to make your site popular and high traffic. And then put up some ads (adsense etc) and enjoy the fruits. Or sell the site and get a huge pay for it. Read more »

update 2

ok, i am finally online. there were over 60 moderated comments and over 600 comments in the spam. normally i used to check the spam comments too but not this time, it’s simply too many comments to go through. so i have deleted all the comments caught by akismet in the spam. comments awaiting moderation were approved/rejected accordingly.

update

hi everyone, sorry for not posting for sometime. the reason i have been away is i have moved to a new place and there is no internet access yet. my internet supposed to be up few days ago, but service provider (tmnet) is as usual giving me unnecessary problems. which supposed to be a simple process - transferring my internet account to the new house - is now taking ages… it is not uncommon with tmnet, i have had similar problems before. so i am just gonna be patient and wait. will be back as soon as my internet is up, which i hope will be monday.

GCube: Free Online Leave Application System

gcube.pngGCube is a newly developed free online leave application and management system for SMEs. If the company that you work for is still using paper and making you run here and there to get your leave approved, then ask your boss to check this application out. It’s free, so has nothing to lose!

It’s locally developed web application by Malaysian startup called Green Cube Solutions Sdn Bhd. I had the privilege to work with the CEO of this startup Ganee Baharudin back in 2004 at one of the local IT companies.

Currently the system has two fully completed modules running, more modules are expected to be added in the future. If you use the sytem, do let them know about your experience and where you would like to see improvements. I am sure they would appreciate that.

Long URL Please: un-shorten URLs to their original URLs

Everything has advantages and disadvantages, and that is true with URL shortening services too. There are times you just wish if you had an eye that can see through these short URLs and see the destination URLs. This is especially true when you are viewing suspicious blogs or websites with short URLs in them. Personally I avoid clicking any suspicious short URLs.

Short URL services were popularized by Twitter due to its limited characters in ‘tweets’.

AdesClrPicker v2.2 - Updated

adesclrpickerMy free color picker software “AdesClrPicker” has been updated. For those who are not familiar with this tool, it’s a color picker tool that allows you to capture colors anywhere on your screen with a single click of your mouse in either HTML, RGB, C++, VB and Delphi color codes.

In this update, the tool has been optimized (i.e the coding) now it runs even more efficiently. Also the #FFFFFF-bug which caused the tool to get stuck in some situations has been solved. (This was a tough bug, literally ;) took me very long time to find.)

So, please download the new version of the color picker (click here).

Website: www.adesclrpicker.com/

P.S Thank you for your continuous support, feedback and suggestions to make this color picker the best freeware!

Top Commenters: April 2009

Thank you for the top commenters for the month of April, they were: titan, Ties UK, Best Teeth Whitening, cdl test, CSS web design finder, iPhone, Minnesota Attorney, Web Design, Marisha Adams and Marketing Man.

Notice: Those who have spammed the blog with tens of comments in one day just to get into the top list were removed from the list. In this list, regular readers and regular commenters are given priority.

This doesn’t mean that you cannot comment on more than one post in one day, the fact is you can! But I am talking about those who come on the last few days of the month and spam-comment the blog just to be in the list. The rest of the days of the month they are nowhere to be seen on the blog. This won’t work here my friends.

P.S @Ties UK, you have given your email in the URL field, do you want it to be linked to your email?
