al-rajhi e-statement

Posted in » miniblog - by Ades on April 15th, 2009

al-rajhi bank is sending e-statements in a zipped format with a password that is 8 characters long. and the most interesting part - they are all numbers! this is really dangerous since any zip password crackers can open this file. i hope they will improve the security of the file in the future. (helloo… anybody from al-rajhi listening?!)

That is quite scary! Hopefully your blogging about it will create some awareness and pressurize this institution to step up security before something untoward happens. It is crazy how behind the times old institutions can be!
