tineye.pngTinEye is an image search engine that employs image identification technology rather than keywords - you upload sample image (or give URL of the image) and the search engine will find for you images that has the similar shapes, concepts, characteristics.

The results can be the same image, modified version of the image or a different image altogether as seen below. Also, the naming of the images do not really matter in this case as long as they match in appearance.

If you want to see more examples of search results, see cool searches page.

Additionally they have iPhone app which allows you to search for products using your mobile phone’s camera. Just take a picture of the product to start searching for product info and reviews. Cool Stuff!

This is really a creative way of image searching, you can find more relative images. Other than that I found it is also useful for finding stolen images, if you search your own image you can find what others are using it. Really cool!

Wow, what an awesome service! As a person who used to own a signage company I have to say that this technology would have been most helpful for artwork purposes and the like ten years ago! I still play around with graphic design, and this will definitely come in useful.

Looks like a long process to search some images on tineye, since I have to upload an image in order to find another image…., what if I do not have an image with what I am searching for? If I had what I was searching for than I would not search for it. Anyway, what I am trying to say, ….. I’ll still use google for image search.
