google’s visual design lead quits

douglas bowman, google’s visual design lead has resigned google. one of the reasons he cited for his resignation is google’s obsession with data. even in design they apparently try to implement strict scientific rules where you must prove your design preference… why the border has to be 3pixels, prove it!? that’s crazy! read his post

    Creative types are usually out the box thinkers, and I suppose he could only put up with making the big bucks whilst being hemmed in for so long! Any idea what career path he is going to pursue in future? I’ll go read his post quickly….

    And it is to twitter that he is going! Now that is really interesting news, especially seeing that twitter is being touted as the successor to Google’s throne. Hmmmmm, this definitely is interesting, I wonder if twitter has targeted any other key Google personnel? I sense a big story over the longer term developing here.
