BackupUrl.com is a website that allows you to capture a snapshot of any website (URL) and store it for you to access anytime in the future.
What is it useful for? I guess you could use it store different versions of your website, or you can also use it to prove stuff, for example; if someone denies that your banner was never removed from their website but you found it to be otherwise on certain days, you could capture it and show him that your banner was in fact missing from the page(s) etc.
Since it’s a third party application there is no way someone could alter the results, thus making it a reliable source of evidence.

I think this will be a great tool. As an online trader we can take snap shots of our in sites in order to prove for example terms and conditions etc haven’t been changed. All in all a very good idea.
This could also be valuable for a competitor’s website.
This may be useful for attorneys to preserve evidence in litigation, but the challenge would be proving to a court that the process of preserving evidence was reliable, which might require an expert from BackupURL to testify to their process.

That is a great website, I have just checked out, I thought it will generate an image as snapshot but actually it creates exact copy of the website, can be used as a tiny url also I guess.

BackupUrl is surely useful especially to writers working online. I hear a lot of them are not getting paid for their work. Maybe they should use this to prove that their articles were indeed posted online.

That is such a great service it could come in handy – i have had the diapering banner problem before and this can be a great way to combat this.
