Illustration: America’s $3 Trillion War On Iraq
Here is a nice illustration about America’s $3 trillion war on Iraq and how they spent it, illustrated in 10 steps. In 2003, Secretary of Defense, Ronald Rumsfeld estimated Iraq war to be $60 billion. After five years, the cost of Iraq war stands at around $3 trillion.
What an estimation! or was it an intentional misleading?
Imagine if all these money is spent on the needy and the poor, on the education and the health of the society. They could have even bailout tens of Fords, GMs and Chryslers. But no! Bush had to spend it on the killing of more than 1 million Iraqis and over 4000 US soldiers.
Regarding helping the poor… here is an interesting documentary (trailer) on youtube about the corruption and misuse of foreign aid. In reality, those millions of dollars never really reach the poor in Africa!
Unfortunately, this is the state of the world that we are living in now.

This world is a toilet because of this constant BS. Why can’t the people of earth not work together and make things happen for the greater benefit of all? All this pain and suffering, coupled to the insane spending really doesn’t make any sense at all, especially as most of these conflicts are blatantly engineered to feed this machine.

When $800 Billion, almost 1/3 of that estimate, comes from “increased cost of gasoline at the pump and its impact on the economy” I call BS. There are too many moving parts to lump that number on the war. Interest rates, tax rates, natural disasters, etc. All impact the costs that these guys “calculate” as the cost of the war. This is childish what ifs passed off as serious analysis.

Hi Ades,
This is my first post here ;) I hope you is cool?
Interesting point this raises..
As far as I can see it (and I know this is deep), the want for MONEY was started thousands of years ago and everything that goes with it, is a disaster..
I mean like I hear Christians saying that they have raised LOADS OF MONEY for charity (sorry to shout by the way) - this in itself is a sin…
Jesus taught that ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE!!!
Where does the money bit come into the equasion???
SATAN once said to Jesus that if he accepted him, then he would be made King of all the Lands for as far as the eye could see - but he would have lost his soul.
Couldn’t this analogy be applied to the way a Bank gets you to borrow money. Sign here on the dotted line and you can have the money…
It could be then said that you are a slave to money, because you must submit to the ways of the Economy, to pay the money (and the interest) back to the lender!
These days people religiously go to BANKS :( not CHURCHES!!!
And to go back to your original point Ades, in my opinion; wars are just there to earn people money!!
Sad world we live in isn’t it?

Thanks everyone for your comments and opinions. Even though it’s less likely, but let’s hope that Obama won’t repeat Bush’s mistakes. I say less likely because Obama has already decided to send more troops to Afghanistan. That means more bloodshed for both sides.
