What New Year? Miscellaneous ramblings
New Year: It’s almost 2 hours into 2009 here in Malaysia. So technically speaking, we are one year ahead of Western countries at the moment (This is the only time Asian countries can be ahead of US and Europe ;) Since I don’t celebrate New Year, for me it was just another day (but with fireworks).
Gaza Crisis: While people worldwide are celebrating new year and watching fireworks in the sky, people of Gaza, Palestine are being pounded by Israeli bombs. Close to 400 people have died and around 1600 have been injured in a fifth straight day of Israeli bombardment. This is how the Gaza looks in reality (warning:graphic images) click here and here
The strange thing is that, there has been a lot of news reporting and fact statement but no one really came out and condemned this horrible massacre. President elect Obama is playing golf, the Bush administration has advised Israeli government to avoid civilian casualties, the World is silent and the Arab League couldn’t even arrange emergency meeting quickly. That basically sums up the world’s reaction to Gaza crisis.
Donate: If you want to help the people of Gaza, please donate some money to them http://www.un.org/unrwa/emergency/donation/index.html. Every contribution counts, no matter how small.
PageRank: Google seems to have updated its PageRank system for the new year. My not so long ago launched website www.adesclrpicker.com is now showing PR4 (previously PR0), my main site www.adesdesign.net has not changed (PR6) and this blog of mine still PR2 (previously PR7).
Soon, the pagerank of this blog should be back to normal as well (hopefully), because I had submitted my blog for reconsideration few weeks ago.
What 2009 holds for us: Only God knows what it holds, but it’s going to be a difficult year, that’s for sure. Effects of the current financial crisis will be felt mostly in 2009, especially in the Asian region. But nevertheless, let’s stay positive and hope that 2009 will be a better year than the past year.
Good luck to everyone with your internet projects and blogs in 2009!

This is not a massacre, This is war. And this war was forced on Israel by the terrorists of the Hamas, which care nothing for the palestinian people and children, taking their food and medicine funds to buy ammunition and build rockets to fire at innocent civilians in Israel (for over 8 years now!).
The Hamas propaganda is good, but the facts are still obvious. Israel has enough firepower to wipe Gaza from the face of the earth within minutes. Considering the scale of the Israeli attacks, The horrible pictures you link to are only a proof the the amazing effort the Israeli forces are doing to AVOID innocent deaths (if it was such a massacre, you’d expect hundreds of dead, no?). At the same time, of course, Israel allows trucks with humanitarian aid into the Gaza strip (but the Hamas militants steal this supply for themselves, mostly). I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these pictures are of the two girls who died when a Hamas rocket failed and hit a nearby about three days ago house. They have no shame in such matters.
Hamas, fueled by the Iranian government, did everything it could to draw Israel to war. Now after years of super-human patience from the Israeli side at suicide bombers, rockets and other terror acts, the Hamas got what they wanted. Now these terrorists surround themselves with woman and children so that they can present these shocking pictures to the world.
You are being mislead. Hamas does not care for the independece or welfare of the palestinians. It’s only after political power, strife and violence.
Please be fair enough to publish this reply, even though you may not believe it.

Sorry, I missed a word… if this was a massacre, one would expect pictures of hundreds of *children* dead. It’s true that there are many casulaties in this war, but the vast majority of them were active terrorists.

Can you resubmit them when you are selling text link ? I doubt they will return your pagerank..
I felt that it is easier to build a new website for pagerank than to have a old website regaining its pagerank back

In my view Israel is the main source of terrorism. US must understand their responsiblity and warn israel to not do this kind of attack on innocent people. Arab countries are busy in their oil crisis They don’t have time(dare) to threat israel on this issue.

Crisis is really sad and unfortunate but it seem unavoidable in some countries. Governments are corrupted and the citizens will be in a mess.

Be united and fight against terror, in my country (India) terror is on the top by Pakistan, still India wants piece because ultimately war will affect only and only innocent people and lost their lives. Hope this crisis ends very soon.

I too have been shocked and appalled by the Israeli bombings of civilians in Gaza. It is particularly distressing that the Israeli air force has put up videos of their attacks on youtube to try to justify their actions. Please everyone go to youtube and flag these videos as inappropriate so they will be removed!

reconsideration? but ur still selling text-link. on the Gaza bombing… i think both parties must give and take, having said that, Isreal will be isreal and the Jews will never leave Isreal, Palestine should have accepted the peace treaty proposed by Bill Clinton, the Jews agreed to the terms and condition (recognize Palestine as a separate nation) and palestine should give up demanding Isreal to be under the authority of palestine! Simple, but palestine refused… they want all!
Now, poor innocent kids die… put it simple, we can’t ask the Indon/Philipine Muslims in Sabah to leave Malaysia after giving them PRs right? Project M/ Project IC? same same… its all about land!

@Jerry Geribaldi, you shouldn’t forget that the Israel is the occupying force here. Everything what is happening now is the consequences of the illegal occupation of Palestine by the Israelis. Palestinians are just defending themselves, and for that they are being labeled “terrorists” by the US and Israel.
I am sure you would defend your home and family if someone were to illegally destroy it and tried to chase you out, so that they can build their own home on the same spot. Their justification is: “it’s in our books that the land belong to us”. Would that justification convince you to give up your home?
Let’s look at the “promise of God” in the Torah. First of all, the promise was given to the “believers”. Believers are anyone who believe in the True Religion and The God. Believers here are not a specific nation or race as the Jews claim. Therefore, Christians and Muslims have more right to Palestine than Jews. Because Christians were the True Believers after the Jews, and now Muslims are the true followers of Abraham.
P.S If you would like to discuss it further, you can email me at abdylas@gmail.com

As long as you use rel=”nofollow” tags on the the text links and ads, you can submit for reconsideration. I am positive that I will get back the PR, maybe not as high as PR7 but still… that’s because for my site http://www.adesdesign.net/ I had submitted for reconsideration too. Previously it was demoted to PR4 from PR6, after reconsideration I could get back my PR6.

Hamas should stop lanching rockets into Isreal and accept the existence of Isreal. Lets face the fact that the Jews are not going to leave Isreal by force or any other means, the Palestine should have had settle for what the Jews offers them during the peace negotiation. Beggers can’t be choosy. Yes, it was their land, so claimed by both parties. Whatever it is, God teaches us to give and to take as little as possible, if the Jews are wrong, then they will be punished by God when they meet the maker, no need Hamas or any other group of people playing and acting on behalf of God! The killing stops when both parties especially the palestine are willing to accept the peace treaty as proposed by america and isreal - just sign it!
