Let’s say, you want to have 7 posts on the main page of your blog, but you also want to have 15 posts on Search results page. And you also want to have on category pages 12 posts (per page). Normally, you can’t do this with WordPress, because by default WP shows you same number of posts on all pages.
But with Different Posts Per Page plugin you can do it. (see screenshot below)

Why would you want to have different number of posts on different sections of your blog? To improve your blog’s usability! That’s why.
For example my search results page only shows the title of the blog post, date, and category (see here). So, they are pretty compact. Therefore, I want to have more than 6 posts on my search results page (i display 6 posts on the main page).
With Different Posts Per Page plugin, now I am displaying 20 posts on search results page.
Only one disadvantage getting this plugin is that, you need to subscribe to Pawan’s email list first. But that’s a small matter, you can unsubscribe anytime if you want. Besides, he sends some useful emails anyway.

i still fine with my way. But thanks for sharing this idea.
I still don’t need to do that. But it’s a nice info, i just knew that there is such plugin like that.

That’s great to have the flexibility of having the number of posts on different pages. It opens up a lot of possibilities.
I had no idea you could even do this with WordPress. Thanks for the plugin.
