Google Gears doesn’t recognize Google.com

google_gears.pngIsn’t it strange that Google’s own product Google Gears does not recognize the URL google.com? [see pic] Probably they are not doing exceptions to their own domains, but come on who would complain?

Google Gears is a plug-in that extends your browser to create a richer platform for web applications. For example with it, you can use Google Docs and Google Reader offline when your PC is not connected to the internet. When it is connected, it would synchronize the offline data with online applications.

Additionally, Zoho and Remember the Milk too use Google Gears.

  1. This is what happens when companies get to big, people loose track of the products that they sell. I find it rather funny, though.

  2. I guess how paranoid about security and privacy they are.

  3. Rice Blogger says:

haha…i don’t have google gear…only google desktop and they warn about site that have security issue…

would be funny to have google banned by own product

  4. Hahahahah….am sure this glitch will be remedied soon, now that it has been put out in the public domain.

  5. Tech blog says:

    roflmao..

but i think google is equal for all, even for itself.

  6. A few versions of gmail back, the google toolbar would constantly block gmail from doing things.

Got something to say? Go for it!
