Sell your blog through agent
If your blog is making more than $300 a month, and if you are no longer interested in blogging. You can sell your blog privately to DailyBlogTips‘ author Daniel Scocco. Read his post here.
He says he has already helped two person to sell their blogs, and that he knows many people who make a living buying and selling websites.
I think there is a huge business in being a middleman (agent) in matching bloggers with potential buyers. So, Daniel is on the right track! Sure, the sites like sitepoint.com works for most of the people, but for popular blogs and sites, private arrangement is always the better option. Because the listing (site for sale) could damage site’s reputation, advertisers’ confidence and readership a lot. It’s especially true if the site is listed on sitepoint and then it didn’t sell…
So, if you want to sell your blog, you now know where to go?! Would I sell my blog? I don’t think so. It’s less likely that I will be selling my blog (with my name in the url) anytime in the future, eventhough, every blog has its own price.
However, I don’t mind to sell some of my projects once in a while, like I did with the UserInterfaceIcons.

It’s a really cool service he’s offering, and I think it’s really smart of him to mention it on his blog.

I think you are so right about there being a definite need for a broker that brings sellers together with potential buyers. Thanks for introducing us to this excellent resource!

Surely, this is a new area of income for some bloggers. But it is hard to tell if someone will sell their blog as pointed by Ades!

$300 a month. That would be a nice target to get to and if i did ever get there i’d not be so sure I’d want to sell.

The virtual world of the internet emulates our real life world and practices more and more. Just like buying and selling profitable businesses via a business broker, so you can buy and sell blogs and other websites. Gives one reason to work hard and get projects going, to then sell them to the highest bidder. Just wonder if it happens like in real life, when the original energy behind a project is gone, it often flounders?

Selling a blog is not exactly rocket science. Especially if its profitable… Does the guy charge anything for his help?

I dont like the idea of ‘middle men’ at all really. Look at the crack down on insurance company middle men in the UK at the moment.
All it does is take cash away from either yourself or your prospective buyer.
Although it would be nice to see an ebay stylee website auction place :)

Agreed PPC, website brokers and business brokers are similar, the only difference is they are on-line. Its a great idea, I will be checking them out. Thanks Ades
