Real-life like online bookstore
Have you wondered how Amazon’s books would look like if it was in a real bookstore? Well, zoomii tries to visualize just that (see below). It’s a real life like bookstore that is based on Amazon. It’s very interactive, you can click and drag, and use your mouse wheel to zoom-in and zoom-out. Clicking on a book will display the book details.

See it in action below. Cool huh? I won’t be surprised if Amazon will buy this website…

Must have taken them a long time to complete, but their site has already generated a lot of buzz. I wish them luck with it :)

Now that’s a great online bookstore and it’s a lot of fun.
I found it was extremely slow but just before I put it away I noticed in the bottom left corner a note saying it was slow in Firefox 3 but they are fixing it.
Glad I saw that note or I would not have liked it quite so much.
Thanks for the link.

Having a real-life like bookstore online? What a clever idea. This truly would attract book lovers! I love to go to bookstores and have a look around for interesting books, especially the new published ones. But with this new site, I am able to just surf around and not have a hard time finding books that might interest me. A great site, indeed!

I’m so glad all of you liked the store. It’s been a labor of love. I’m also happy to say that the Firefox 3 issue is fixed, and it’s now nice and fast on that browser.

It doesn’t work well with FF3.0 yet… so that’s a pity!

This virtual bookstore really resonates with me. Excellent idea, and you bet that if Amazon doesn’t pounce on this somebody else will!

Its nice to see that someone is maknig an effort to build the bridge between retail and e-commerce.
I work on some very high profile e-commerce sites in the UK and one of the biggest challenges we face is that the customer has no tangible product infront of them when they are deciding on a purchase. Instead we have to provide 3d videos and size comparissons etc to help fight this
