wordtracker.pngPopular keyword research tool Wordtracker is giving free 7 day full-access to its system.

I think 7 days is a plenty of time for me to research my keywords, I just have to remember to cancel my subscription within this period.

Please note that you will have to supply your Credit Card details when registering, so if you do not want your card to be charged, you will have to cancel your subscription within 7 days.

How to use Wordtracker? You can use Wordtracker to find keywords that are relevant to your products and services, how people are finding things that are similar to your products and services.

For example, let’s say you sell wordpress templates, so you optimize your site for this keyword - “wordpress templates“. But using Wordtracker you might find that equal number of people are finding your competitors’ sites, searching for keyword “blog themes“. So, Wordtracker will tell you what keyword you should target to attract more visitors to your website.

Below is the screenshot of one of the tools of Wordtracker. If you want to try it out for 7 days for free, you can register here.

I hate it when sites require a credit card to allow you to test out their products.

Keyword Research is one of the cornerstones of SEO success. Without knowing which keywords to target you haven’t got a clue which keywords to optimise for that will statistically give one the best chance of success in one’s given field.

Wordtracker is definitely worth the money it costs. I use it almost everyday, but one thing to bear in mind is that you should cross-check results with the adwords keyword tool.

Sometimes, WT will return search volumes which are way off for certain terms, so by checking the adwords tool as well you can see if they match up.

This is without a doubt one of my favorite tools. I’m also starting to really enjoy Gtrends at http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/gtrends/
which actually allows you to get an estimated daily search volume of your targeted keywords based on Google Trends. Very Cool!

I’ve found Wordtracker very interesting too. It definitely turns up some eye openers, things people type into search engines that you’d never expect. But it returns a boat load of results that take time to sift through. I actually wrote a piece of software to help me scan and sort the data. I posted it online free for anyone who might find it useful as well ( http://www.trackeranalyzer.com ). Figured if I gave it away I’d get feedback to make it better and ultimately help me in my own research. Out of curiousity, for those of you who have used it, are you using it to find better keywords for your particular niche market? Or to actually find new niche markets? I use it for the latter. If its not too much trouble, drop me a note, I’d definitely appreciate hearing how others are using the tool.

Uh oh, it was pointed out that my previous post was confusing. When I ask if you all are using “it” to find better keywords for your niche or using “it” to find a new niche, I meant using “Wordtracker”. I’m curious to know how people are using Wordtracker.
