Spectra - visual news reader from MSNBC

spectra.pngDo you find reading news boring? How about adding some flare to it? Well, MSNBC is trying exactly that.

MSNBC has launched new visual news reader called Spectra that makes reading news a lot more entertaining.

It’s a flash based reader that shows news in a 3D fashion. You can choose different channels (e.g top news, international, US, Iraq..etc) and add to your reading queue.

    Some how the idea of the daily news flying around my computer screen like a flock of birds does not make reading the news any more or less interesting. I wonder what the meeting that this idea was dreamed up in sounded like..

    Okay, so maybe it’s not the most functional way of showing the news but it’s still an interesting experiment that may help to generate ideas for new interfaces.
