A year ago Adobe announced that it will be taking its popular photo editing software Adobe Photoshop online. Now it is a reality. Adobe Photoshop Express is an online version of Adobe Photoshop (screenshot below). It’s still in Beta. It runs on flash technology and requires your browser to have Flash Player 9.

To use this service, you need to register an account on the site. It’s a free service for now, I am not sure if they will be charging in the future.
While it’s said that it’s the online version of Photoshop, it does not have that many features. So it’s more like a basic online photo editing tool. But I am sure Adobe will be introducing a lot more features in the future.

It’s pretty good!
That’s a cool idea, but I don’t think the online tool will work as well as what I have on my PC.
I love Photoshop. It’s one powerful program. I never thought it would go online though.
Of course it’s only for US residence. That drives me nuts. All the good things happen in the states while we wait for months even years before they open it up to the others.
I believe website is done in Flex. This can lead to only one direction: next step PhotoShop AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) that works both on desktop and web.
Why fix something that is not broke yet? The installed software is more than adequate.
I can only wonder how effective it will be online but am looking forward to a trial. It’s been years since the idea of appliance type software was first floated and now it seems to finally arriving in mainstream applications.
Basic is great for me. Anything more i probably would not understand
Photoshop is the weapon of choice for most designers I know. Them going online with a very basic free version to serve as a teaser makes good sense, as it will expose a larger potential customer base to their products. Adobe rocks!
Photoshop is the best photo editing software there is. Nothing like having access to it online form anywhere. Its gonna prove to be a huge hit. The flash on the home page is superb.
I had a little play with it and it works quite well. But why would you want to use it when you have photoshop?
Am gonna take a shot at it later.tankz tho
It’s good to know that there’s an online photoshop. It’s a great alternative if something goes wrong with your adobe software. However, i think installing Photoshop is still advisable since it has a wide functionality compared online; like adding brushes and grunges.
