Great job and yes congratulations. I particularly like his comment about being respectful to his posters. I have posted on some certain blogs for months now with not even one E-mail to say thanks. Not that that’s why I do it but still.

I really enjoyed his article, but it was more about how he doesn’t believe in luck than how he got 2000 readers. Maybe that’s how?! :)

I had read his articles on many blogs where he has guest blogged before I checked out his site. I must say he is a very prolific writer who writes very useful content. I am sure the success is much deserved.

Thank you for your comments and Ades, appreciate the post :)

Vicky, respecting readers is indeed always a must if you are serious about building a friendly community around your blog and that has been my attitude right from day one.

Matt, my attitude towards hard work and the fact that I don’t believe in luck has definitely played an extremely important role.

Nicole, glad you’ve found my blog as well as guest posts useful, it’s always great to see readers appreciating your work.

    Best wishes,

    Alan Johnson

I’ve seen the name around the internet a lot but today was the first time I’ve seen your blog Alan.

The first thing that struck me was that the PR was low - is that because it is so new?

Surely there must be some luck involved? Is it not lucky that the right readers saw your post(s) on Digg and gave you the thumbs up? Can that be explained with probability?

Overall though, it is great to see hard work, far too many people want things just to drop in their laps.

    Great work.

I would love to read ten posts on exactly how to gain subscribers. I am also surprised with as many technorati fave me trains and other things out there that there is not many rss subscriber trains going around. I would jump on board that. Maybe your next post can be the start of a subscriber train.
