mimbo.pngThis is one of the best free WordPress themes I have came across on the net. Since it is free, I thought I would share it with you guys.

It’s called Mimbo Magazine Theme. It was developed by Darren Hoyt (dot com).

Template looks great, it can also generate sub-menus as a drop down menu. You can see it in action here: view demo.

Real life example of a blog that is running on Mimbo is PlagiarismToday.com

P.S If you are looking for a better premium magazine theme, check out Revolution Theme. It’s the best so far on the net!

I still can’t come around to these magazine-style themes. I like traditional blog themes.

@Flimjo - I suppose it depends on what you’re trying to emphasize.

When I come across a a magazine format, my gut says I’m dealing with an organization rather than the individual blogger. That could very well be appropriate for your particular subject. In the case of Plagiarism Today, I think it works very well.

I, on the other hand, opted to go with Justin Tadlock’s impressive Structure theme which can be set up as either a traditional blog or as a magazine. I decided on a traditional blog format but if I should ever decide to change formats, I’m most of the way there.
