Update your twitter automatically with your blog posts
Do you twitter? If you do, and if you use it to promote your blog (i.e send your twitter followers to your blog every time you write a new blog post), then you should be using this WP Plugin.
Because Twitter Tools will automate that process.
Every time you publish a new post on your blog, this plugin will login to your Twitter and post a message in this format: “New Blog Post: Title of the Post comes here”. (see screenshot right) It can also do the reverse of it, in other words, when you post a message on your twitter it can create a new post on your blog. It can also collect your twitter updates for the day, and create a digest blog post on your blog.
Other than that, it allows you to publish your twitter messages on your blog’s sidebar. I am using it for the first reason, to update my twitter with my new blog posts.
You may follow me on twitter at twitter.com/adesblog.

That is a great feature. I have read so much about Twitter but have yet found time to use it. I shall put it nearer the top of my to do list!

I guess I’m going to have to do this Twitter thing. I’ve failed to see the point of it, but it looks like everyone, except for me, is jumping on the bandwagon

Great idea. These are fantastic for people who already use these platforms (Flickr etc), update in one place share all over.

Hey Andy I do use Twitter and I do use the Twitter plugin and I do follow you in my Twitter.
I also have a Twitter addon for my FireFox browser that lets me use the Address bar to type Twitter messages.

I use twitter for some time now, but I really don’t like when people are using it just as marketing tool. If I read your blog, why should I follow you on twitter where your every twit is: hey, I have new post!
By Ades on Mar 4, 2008
webomatik, that’s a good argument. let me give you example, i do not read problogger.net everyday, but once in a while i see a twitter from Darren saying he has posted “some post”. Sometimes I click on them and read the post. If he has not posted, I wouldn’t visit his blog that time or that day. So it helps to bring more readers.
But as you say, it might be annoying for regular readers of your blog who follows you on twitter too.
By webomatik on Mar 4, 2008
absolutely, I mean I’m not against using it at all as marketing tool, but only when every 5-6 twit is “I have new post”, like yours, and not every one of them.
Ades, what you described above (problogger) is job for RSS readers, don’t you think?

ill give it a chance, im a user of tweeter but not a “competent” user, this tool could be a solution for this problem.

That’s a pretty sweet new feature. Way too go Twitter - it’s important to keep adding features and this is a great plugin for the millions of Wordpress users. Thanks for the info -

This is great news. I like twitter but it seems not to get as much publicity as some other sites out there.

Almost every blog talks now about Twitter, that means we all must look into this and add this to our arsenal of social networks and profit from it where possible!

@webomatik, i think, what ade is trying to point out is…you will only follow someone in twitter if you personally like them…simple, why follow someone you don’t know?
to update twitter with your new post is something which is ok for your ‘online friends’(those who chose to follow you). it’s like saying hi to your friends, and informing them that you have updated your blog.
but yeah, twitter flooding is annoying. but if he/she is you’re ‘friend’, you wouldn’t be annoyed at all.
