Book: How to Make Money with your Blog

Somebody had to do this, and Duane Forrester and Gavin Powell did it. The duo has published a new book called: How to Make Money with Your Blog:
The Ultimate Reference Guide for Building, Optimizing, and Monetizing Your Blog. I am surprised it’s not JohnChow ;)
The first customer seems to like it, he had rated 5 star. I haven’t read the book so I cannot comment on the contents of the book, and whether it is a good book or not.
There are tons of blogs and websites that teach you how to make money online, but the big problem with online resources is the archiving, posts get buried. Also the online resources might have affiliate links in them, some people might just promote something because they are making money with it, but not the referred people. So, the book is better over the online resources in that sense. I just hope it has more tips than just AdSense and TLA.

i must say thanks to you for your incitive write ups about making money through blogs and blogging.meanwhile, i will like to make a correction, there is nothing like a good or bad book.A book is either moral or immoral not good or bad.

I think evaluation of good/bad still applies. Coz it’s his opinion, so he might say good/bad. If this was some kind of groups blog then they would have rated it moral/immoral. IMHO!

I think these books helps but not much as the main thing is your content , quality of the content and also the quantity.
You must have a nice blog , very informative so that people love to read your blog and also come back again. This is the only way to increase your traffic and traffic can only generate money for you.
Thanks..

chuks ugoji, i think unfortunately there are bad books which are intentionally written to hurt/demonize others.

Hi Ades,
According to your which are the best resource for money making available who is not an established blogger yet like me?
Also I want to know which utilities do you recommend?

interesting - I’d not seen this one.
I haven’t seen it either so can’t really comment but it does seem a little ‘odd’ to me that neither of the authors seem to be actively blogging. Duane has a blog which hasn’t updated since October and I can’t even find one from Gavin.
Nothing against the idea of a blog on this topic (am working on one myself - so am of course biased) but it’s not a great starting point to convince me that it’s written from personal experience.

Darren, I know what you mean, McGraw-Hill could have chosen actual, successful (pro)bloggers instead (as yourself for example). I am thinking this book will be a better alternative.

Having been making my living online now for over a decade, I’ve found the old adage still holds true - build your audience, build your trust factor, and the money will come.
You have to be in it for the long haul.

I just completed reading this book. It is worth while having this book. The main reason this book is a beneficial read is to gain a better understanding about how to make money with the blog. It contains pretty straight-forward ways of making money.
