This countdown (see left) was generated by this online tool. You can set any date, you can also choose background and text colors. Finally you can give it a descriptive name (eg. new year).
Once you press generate code, it will give you a flash code. You can then paste this code into your website/blog. I have noticed that there is a small advertisement text below the countdown. In my case it was about “payday loans”. I have removed it. Otherwise, I think it’s a great looking countdown.

it doesnt work…i went and filled out everything..but the counter just says 0 days 0 mins.etc..it doenst moveeeee .
yah it doesn’t work, but there’s a value wrong in the code, that you can fix… when you click generate code, look in the code where the dates are, and you’ll see the year showing 2007… there’ll be two instances of 2007, change those to 2008, as the year drop down list failed to work.
well i changed the year from 2008 to 2009 and it worked for me… i guess its jus set wrong but its the right amount of days left when i input 09..
Same thing for me. I put in the desired date i wanted and then generated the code, pasted to notepad, changed all the years (2 instances as stated by others) and boom! It works. For some odd reason, the year you set the code at is a year backwards. So if you choose 3/5/2009 it will go to 2008 and likewise for 2010 it’d be 2009. so you have to copy the code and simply change the 2 years to what it should be. :)
Good count down ticker but I think somewhere down the line, the company will start throwing ads within the Flash. So far, it looks good.
