ADSDAQ’s first payment - $65.50
ADSDAQ sent me my first payment, that totaled to $65.50. If you have forgotten about it, I had talked about it here. It’s a new publisher program from ContextWeb that allows you to set your own CPM rates.
I had tested it as a secondary ad network on my site www.adesdesign.net for about 2 months (tested it on this blog for a short while too). I am using TribalFusion as the primary ad network. TribalFusion fills about 55% of the time, so the rest 45% was filled with ADSDAQ banners.

ADSDAQ performance
Since I could set my own price. I started off with a CPM rate $5 per CPM, but with this rate it was barely filling, about 10% of the time. After that I reduced it to $3, then $2, and finally fixed it at $1/CPM. I also created multiple channels and set different rates for each channel. Most of them were set to $1, but some were set to $0.20 only (see screenshot).
The sections which were set to $0.20 were 3rd level pages, homepage and secondary level pages were set to $1.
The reason I set higher rates for homepage and secondary pages was, because I didn’t want them to be filled with all the junk banners. But I could afford to display lower quality banners on the tutorial pages (on 3rd level pages).
As you can see from the screenshot, tutorial pages were doing really well for leaderboard banners (720×90), filling 55% of the time. But not so good for skyscraper banners (120×600), it filled only 1.93% of the time. Other than that, homepage and secondary pages were filled about 20% of the time, except for one section that was filled only 4.69% of the time. Overall fill rate was 16.41% for the site.
When I tested it on this blog as the primary ad network, the fill rate was about 30%. CPM was set to $1 for 300×250 banners, and $0.50 for 160×600 and 120×600 banners.
Verdict: I would say it performed below my expectations, I was thinking at least 60% fill rate, at the rate $1 per CPM. But I think it can safely be used as the secondary ad network. It’s not that bad to get once in 2 months $65 dollars.
As far as the ad quality is concerned, they are quite OK. Definitely better than ValueClicks, BurstMedia or CasaleMedia ads.

Hey, I’m always for a few $65 checks. They’re nice for a dinner out on the town. Can’t beat that.

xBrain, backup code is the secondary code that you want it to be displayed when the ADSDAQ cannot fill your inventory. You can put AdSense code or any other code that you have.

Sorry Ades,
Forgot to ask yesterday…
Did ADSDAQ accept blogspot blog??
By xBrain on Dec 17, 2007
Ades, I tried to put the it since yesterday, now the fill in rate is 0.89% for both 728*90 and 160*600 but the income is a bit low at $0.06 and $0.05.
What do you think Ades? Is it normal or should I lower down the rate to $1 like what you do.
By Ades on Dec 19, 2007
-Shawal, I think blogspot blogs are accepted if I am not mistaken, but please confirm with them.
-xBrain, 0.89% or 89%? If 0.89% then I think you should reduce it further, until at least it fills 30-50% of your inventory.
