Leverage Facebook by creating apps for it, make huge money!

Most of you must be already using Facebook and the ones who are not using it, surely have heard about it, probably got few invitations from your friends too. But you must be still resisting to join it. Well, it’s up to you to join it or not.

I am not going to talk about how great Facebook is in this topic, rather I will be talking about, how you could leverage Facebook’s huge network of user-base to your own advantage, and that is:

• to use it as a free promotion tool for your blog,
• and to make huge amounts of money

How you can do that? Non programmers won’t like this - you can do that by developing some interesting applications for Facebook. If you are not a web programmer, you could still hire someone to develop your application. Not necessarily you have to code it yourself. It’s the idea that counts here, not programming skills.

Every day 1000 programmers are joining the Platform

In the middle of 2007, Facebook has opened its platform dubbed F8 for the 3rd party application integration.

Within short period of time (less than a month) there were already 40,000 developers who have joined the program i.e every day about 1000 programmers were joining. Currently there are more than 168,000 developers evaluating the platform.

Yes, that’s a lot of programmers! But as I said, it’s the idea that counts. So if you have a great idea for an application, you could still beat these programmers.

What applications are popular?

Adonomics tracks the applications used in Facebook. According to Adonomics, the following 10 applications are the most popular.

According to the same source, there are 6,905 apps on Facebook as of today. These applications were used 24,835,874 times in the last 24 hours and have a combined valuation of $381,921,686.

How to make money with applications?

When you create an application that is popular and used by many users on Facebook, you could do wonders with it. Since you are the creator of the application, you will have control on what to display inside the application. That means you could place an AdSense ad inside it for example. Or you could sell direct sponsorship ads.

For example, TopFriends is used by over 2 million users. And according to Adonomics, it’s valued at over 29 million dollars! Selling it for a million would be more than enough for an ordinary developer.
