The answer is you need to have a blog that is PR7 or above ;) That’s the only way you can get your link on JohnChow dot com for FREE, guaranteed!

I had my link under “Friends & Family” section on JohnChow dot com for the past 5 months. The traffic usually would be like 1-8 visitors a day. I know… nothing much right? Earlier this month, I had removed his link from my blog and had informed him to remove my link as well, since I was not interested in the link exchange anymore. However he still keeps my link on his blog to this day. Probably he just deleted my email (as he always does) without reading it.

Why I removed his link from my blog? First, it was sending me too little traffic. And secondly, I do not agree with some of his views and the way he almost “worships” the money.

Do you hold to some values when blogging? If you do, will you compromise them for money? Especially when the money offered is very large amount?

I would never compromise my views for the money. I like John Chow’s site, but he is way too focused on that dollar. It seems to me that his site has become less focused on teaching people how to “make money online” as his mantra as always been.

I still wanna make some money online, but not at the cost of looking money hungry.

JohnChow worships the money but its jokes.

Abdalla, I didn’t mean he literally worships the money…

LOL.. I doubt that John will remove your link even after seeing this post. Your link is at the very top on the list too.

However, that is how I found your blog :)

    - i think he will eventually remove it…

    great!!

with that heading you got a visit to your blog and I earned nothing!

you could have come up with a better heading like I do not recommend JC anymore..!

I daily read your blog in feeds but if the heading is interesting I click on the heading as I want to leave a comment…

    nofullstop[dot]com

I had to leave my blog URL this way as else it gets blocked by Akismet

You mean your not John’s friend or long lost brother? ;-)

    - Hey Nick, what’s up? How is life in Japan? Any new web projects you are working on?

It’s easy to think that two asians must be relatives or friends when they link to each other’s blogs… ;)

not answering to your emails it’s a very bad thing, especially if you are someone important…

if you don’t have time you should hire someone to do this for you, to read them, order them and even reply to them…

as I said - is a very ugly thing to write to someone and not receive an answer [and I’m not talking about an automatic answer]…

    - totally agree

    he do read his emails

i got issues with his blog a few times and he contacted me right the day after to resolve it

he probably putting it up either he forget or he just consider your blog valuable

well how a person perceive money all depends his upbringing. or it could be just an ‘act’ … you never know. still his blog is ‘entertaining’ nonetheless

    - you might be right, Sha… it could be anything… but I still think that a person should hold to his/her principles, in whatever situation he/she may be…

I got to know your site first before I saw the backlink from John Chow. I really thought you guys are friends but only now I know you guys are just doing link exchange… You failed his interview with you once right?

    - Not that I failed, but I had politely refused…

Maybe you will have to pay him to remove it. (lol)

    - ;) good one!

The question is that if you had 100 visitors a day from there, would you care that much about his views?

    - yes I would

I think the fact john chow makes so much money and people find interesting is because the fact he is driven to make money. I am similar in that respect.

    - I do not have anything against being driven to make money, I am myself doing that. But I do have my own priorities and I wouldn’t compromise them just to make some extra bucks.

I do believe that not all extra money will increase your wealth and make you happier, especially those which came from sources like casino, online gambling, cheating, tricking…etc. In Islam there is a concept of barakah, and that is more important for me than making money through *whatever* means. Even if small, but I would like to put food on my table with halal money.

    8 visitors from JohnChow.com? Damn, that’s not what I would expect… :/

I recently received 1st ever textlink for my blog. Obviously I was thrilled - my first paid link! But when I noticed it’s from a casino website I decided to reject it.

With traffic that low (1-8 visitors a day) from a link on his site I doubt that John Chow actually makes as much money as he claims.

    What do you think?

I think that he is alot of hype as well as smoke and mirrors. I don’t know I could be totally wrong here.

    - I think he really makes that much money.

Do you think Link Exchange is only for getting traffic? It helps in SEO too. So by removing Johnchow’s link, you’re going to loose a PR 5 Backlink.

    - I am aware of the SEO benefits of link exchange, besides getting traffic. But I was not interested in that…

And he will loose PR7 backlink

Interesting comments here. I come across this blog thru a search from Google.

I often wonder about some of the claims from these so call experts making tons of money with their blogs.

I am sure some do, but most, not enough to have dinner at the Big Mac.
