We all know how much money JohnChow is making out of DealDotCom.com (not affiliate link). But I don’t want to talk about making money with DealDotCom here. I want to talk about if DealDotCom will be able to survive in its current niche for the months to come, selling only “online marketing” products.

We all know that this is a very narrow niche, and there are not many great internet marketing products on the net about Internet Marketing. Let’s say there are 20-30 real great products, that means DealDotCom will be posting 30 days great products and after that it will be just another website promoting junk products.

To survive only one year, they have to find 365 great products. I doubt that we will be seeing that many quality products in one year. As I said maybe 20-30 great products, after which quality will drop… and it will lead to - change of perception in people’s minds about the DealDotCom. If not dealt soon, DealDotCom will loose its followers and traffic pretty soon. Here is my humble suggestions to them to turn it around.

Suggestions

In order to keep the quality of the products posted on DealDotCom high (up to standards), why not offer various products in different categories and not just internet marketing? Products that are related to:

  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Online Business
  • Blogging
  • Web Design
  • Social Bookmarking
  • Making money online…etc

would all be interesting for the people. Everybody who has a website would be interested to enhance their businesses in one way or another, internet marketing alone won’t guarantee you higher sales. Therefore offering different online business related products would be a huge plus for DealDotCom.

Your thoughts?

What do you think? Will you be checking DealDotCom everyday for the next 3-4 months? Or once in a while? Do you think shifting to broader niche would benefit them better?

I would love to see them branch out and offer products from various niches. There is such a huge majority of bloggers that don’t even touch the “make money online” niche. Even to just expand to the cooking blogs for example, they could offer “how to cook” ebooks or ebooks filled with recipes.–That alone would bring more sales and more referrels because it would appeal to a completely different genre of the blog world. I have the widget on my blog right now but if I see no future with the program, I will disable. It’s that simple. No biggie, no loss.

    Those are good suggestions.

They could also make the deal last longer than a day. DealDotCom should expand it’s offering. You could then be able to sell your own software. ;)

I started an affiliate program last week for my paid blog directory and I looked at the numbers first. In my case, they are 175 000 new blogs(Technorati) every day so the market is very big for my affiliates.

    Hey Ades,

We already deal with anything online business related, including SEO, blogging, web design, etc. We’re not limiting ourselves to only “internet marketing”. Keep your eyes on our site - there’s tons of great products coming up…

    Hi,
I agree with you, but I think they are already selling products that are blogging and online business related. But yes, thay have to broaden out.
