BlogRush, will it survive?
BlogRush is the newest website promotion tool that has been introduced just little more than a week ago. And everybody is talking about it and everybody is using it. But the results are not so impressive. Before it’s too late, founders of BlogRush is rushing to make some changes, but will they be able to save it? Time will tell…
How it works? You sign up, and you put a script on your blog. This script will create a widget that will show 5 blog posts from other blogs every time somebody visits your blog. In return, your latest blog post gets shown in other blogs. Ratio is 1:1 (i.e you show the widget one time, your blog post gets shown one time).

Why it is different? There are banner exchanges and link exchanges that offer the same 1:1 ratio. So what is the difference with BlogRush? BlogRush offers additional 1:1 ratio on your affiliates, for example: if you refer me to BlogRush and I install the code, and I show 10,000 times this widget. Then you get 10,000 credits.
But does it work?
Unfortunately it’s not working too well at the moment, people are seeing very few click through rates. When I say very few, it’s somewhere 0.00# percent. But I think the founders will do something to increase the click through rates. Otherwise eventually it will just die off, because the members will get disappointed with the performance.
My suggestions to BlogRush
In order to make this system more effective, I think these suggestions should be implemented:
- Widget should be put above the fold on the blog, this should be made compulsory. This way the widget would be seen by more people, and consequently the click-through rate would increase.
- Widget should be customizable, when I say customizable it should be really customizable (like AdSense ads) and not just have different color widgets.
- Widget’s size (height and width) should be customizable. Users should be able to choose their own size that fits their blog design.
- Remove the header and the footer (blogrush logo and add your blog free link) for the widgets. Let the users put their own headers.

You should be able to integrate it into your blog and make it look as part of your blog. Because people are more likely to click on something that is part of your blog.
Blogrush is one step behind at the moment. To turn it around, John Reese and his team must make some drastic changes to the sytem. And I believe these changes should be done fast, maximum within the next few days maybe. Otherwise it will be another Agoloco ;)

It crashed to earth in flames. Lots of top bloggers have trashed it. It is now doubtful if it will fully recover from this.

Blogrush have just shot themselves in the foot. I woke uptoday to see that my blog had been banned because it is too commercial..It has 1 link to my own membership site on it and loads of free tips and advice. I then go to shoemoneys blog which hasn’t been banned and he has loads of ads.
If blogrush are going to make rules they should apply them to everyone. Not have 1 rule for big name bloggers and 1 for the rest of us.

That’s too bad Mark. This pick and choose rules are starting to crop up everywhere nowadays. Is it just because Google can penalize some sites manually everybody started to make their own selective rules? People might think, if Google can do it so do we…
