LinkWorth. It’s true that you can change your partner status back and forth from 50/50 to 70/30, and vice versa. However if you are like me, then you too were probably misled by this information. All these while I was thinking that when you change from 50/50 earnings scheme to 70/30, your earnings would change too. Meaning if you were earning $100 in total, now you would get $70, instead of $50 that you were getting during your 50/50 partner status. However that’s not the case.

Recently, I changed back to 70/30 but I noticed my earnings still stayed at 50% in the new month. Contacting LinkWorth, I found out that the links that you got during 50/50 status, will remain at 50%. Even after you change back to 70/30, you will still be earning only 50% from those links. I was disappointed to hear that at first, however after getting LW’s side of the story I kind of agreed with the arrangement.

They said, if LW allows people to change the partner status back and forth, as well as the earnings with it. Then there would be a lot of foul play going on. People would change to 50/50 at first and when they have enough links they would change back to 70/30. Since LW spends time and effort pushing advertisers to your blog during 50/50 time, they do not want these efforts to get wasted when the publisher changes the partner status to 70/30. That means they would still be getting 50% of the earnings for those links that they got them for you.

Publishers should be informed properly

I am fine with the arrangement. But I feel that this should have been communicated clearly! Publishers should not have the perception that they can get 70% of the earnings anytime they want. When changing the partner status to 50/50, there should be a clear message (notification) telling the publisher something like this…

Links that you get during the 50/50 status, would remain at 50% regardless of your partner status later on. Are you sure you want to change your partner status to “Preferred Partner”? Yes/No.

Conclusion

That being said, LinkWorth is a decent publisher program. It’s a clear competitor to any other publisher program. Especially to Text-Link-Ads. I have seen some of the familiar blogs in LW control panel, some I see have got already advertisers. Overall if you have registered with LW, how it has been performing for you? Any luck getting links?

If you are a blogger and have not registered with LinkWorth yet, the I recommend you to give it a try. www.LinkWorth.com

Hi, just wanted to pop in and say that text links is a much better program. To me, Linkworth is only decent for newbies. Too much detail, too long to figure this out. However, more experienced webmasters will pick up on it faster and this should do ok. Personally, I didn’t liked it all that much.
