WP Plugin: RSS Subscription reminder to new visitors only
What Would Seth Godin Do or WWSGD is the name of the plugin that was developed by Richard K Miller.
Seth Godin is the author of some of the bestselling books about marketing, entrepreneurship and change. Plugin name comes from Seth’s statement that he said: “One opportunity that’s underused is the idea of using cookies to treat returning visitors differently than newbies….” - Seth Godin, August 17, 2006
I personally think Richard could have found a better name for his excellent plugin.
What does the plugin do?
Plugin will remind new visitors, the ones who are visiting your blog for the first time to subscribe to your RSS. The regular readers of your blog won’t see the message. Isn’t that cool?
The message appears on the first page, after (or you can set it to “before”) the first post. It does appear on all the other individual post pages, if the user came through a Search Engine to a specific post page.

You can change the default wording of the message, the position of the message (before or after the post) and how many times the new visitor should see the message. It does use cookies to detect new visitors, therefore if you want to see how the message looks for your own testing purposes, just delete the browser cookies and you will be able to see the message.

Other uses of this plugin
I thought you could probably use this plugin for other means, such as displaying ads or promotions to new visitors. Since the plugin settings option supports html, you can enter any html code you want, this could include banners.

I used to use this plug in, but for me I found that my Firefox deletes the cookie automatically, so I was always seeing my own message. ( I visit my own site frequently…believe me.)
I changed to a better looking permanent message at the top of my page. It has the RSS feed in it and welcomes new viewers.
