PayPal Limited Account Access

Posted in » Advice to Businesses, paypal - by Ades on July 27th, 2007

PayPal Limited Account Access has happened to many international users, especially the ones from countries that PayPal do not offer withdrawal options to their local banks. It was just a matter of time that it will happen to me too. Well, it has arrived…

I hope my account will be re-activated soon, end of month is fast approaching and I should be expecting many payments then. If not I will be doomed, because during “limited access” period, you can’t send or receive funds. Also you cannot withdraw your funds.

Suspicious Transaction
The suspicious transaction that they refer is, it’s the withdrawal transaction that I made to my VMI Debit Card account. I have been withdrawing with this card for the last 5 months without a problem. However I have heard from many people that, for this same reason (using VMI card) their account has been limited.

PayPal Debit Card
As you all know, PayPal has its own Debit Card that links your PayPal account to it. However this card is for US citizens only. Isn’t it strange? US citizens can already withdraw their funds to their local banks for free. International users need this debit card more than them. It seems PayPal is just creating more work to themselves. Because every time some international user withdraws his funds, they will set his/her account to limited. And all the process will start (i.e identity and address verification, waiting for days for response, uploading more files to PayPal..etc).

Suggestion to Paypal
If only PayPal could introduce their own Debit Card to all international users, these kind of things wouldn’t happen. Because then, they would know that we are all withdrawing with the verified Debit Card. And no extra work would have been created for themselves, and I am sure PayPal would save lots of man hours on this.

I just hope that this PayPal Debit Card will go international soon, and of course I hope that my account gets activated asap. Also if anyone from PayPal is reading this, please get some real people behind the “support team”. Otherwise pre-written emails from robots are killing us, it’s so difficult to reach a human being over there.

You got it right, Ades. I, too, stopped using it because I couldnt withdraw funds from my account. I hope they address this soon. Otherwise, another service provider may just come up with a better service that will cater to the needs of the international community.

I think paypal hired all the girl with fancy name to help them answer emails.Everytime you get response from their support you will get new names.. I agree that paypal is not proffesional enough using robot name instead of real person working at their support division. What are you hiding for paypal?

PayPal wants to conquer the card thingy I guess, so they make other card users suffer abit. No other card except for their card is my theory. So fussy -_-”

    Hi there!
My account access have been limited yesterday. With $3000! I hope this will be resolved soon. I live in Europe and I have received money from my client in u.s. Paypal sucks! No more Paypal! ;)

Sorry to hear that cooolor, I know what you feel. been there ;)

That’s why even if you use it, try to withdraw the funds as soon as possible, do not leave large amounts in your paypal.

I hope you will get your account reactivated soon. Just follow what they say and provide them all the details of what they ask.

my paypal accout was marked limited right after we had 9 auctions end totaling 645 dollars, we have jumped through every hoop they have asked for and we ended up with an email saying they want to break ties with our company and the money will be locked for 180 days and at that time we will get an email from them telling us how we can get the money. or we can refund the ebay customers now, and they have already received, with delivery confirmed, all the items with no complaints. I guess we are gonna be another customer ripped off by paypal, any other suggestions. you can email me at Dswope@columbus.rr.com

    Bro Ades,

Thanks for the quick reply. I had upload paypal singapore with all the documents they asked for in the resolution center and also had my credit card and expanded number submitted. Had a Tick on the credit card column but not for the documents section??..uploaded to them my photo ID [front and back], passport, electricity bill, supplier contact info…what else?? I wonder what is not complete?

    to aypal-Hater:
just be sure that you provided all the documents they want… there are couple of them, all have to be “ok” marked or something…

PH if you have submitted everything what they asked, then they should contact you with the updates. If they didn’t then I am not sure why they didn’t. Don’t you think the email from them went to your spam folder? Also the uploading files page inside paypal has some usability problem, so please make sure that you have really uploaded the files and not just selected (loaded).

I’ve been scammed by Paypal. Despite paypalsucks and other websites warning people to use Paypal, I took payment for a camcorder that I sold on Ebay and Paypal and am now left with an £800 hole in my pocket and Paypal are £800 richer. When Paypal holds money that it decides is part of a ricky transaction, Paypal get to hold onto your money AND accrus interest from YOUR money. Paypal say they can hold my money for up to 180 days, but possibly longer.

No matter what information I give Paypal, i get the same generic replies back, asking for the information that i have just sent them. Instead of giving the usual advice to other Ebayers, i find myself in the middle of an elaborate scam by Paypal to make as many excuses as possible to get peoples money and hold onto it.

Asking for supplier invoices, I sent an auction reference number from when i purchased the camcorder last year and even the sellers telephone number and email address, still i am getting nowhere, the same replies when i ask why my Paypal account is still on hold.

Legal action will now take place, I urge anyone not to use Paypal, if someone pays you by Paypal I urge you to withdraw the money instantly to your bank account; Although Paypal is regulated by the FSA who I have launched a complaint with and now are in the classification of a bank because they are not registered in the UK any longer.

My advice, dont use Paypal, I will let everyone know what Paypal have done to me. Aaron Sneddon

There is a forum I found on the internet that is free, and helps with Ebay, PayPal, business and the law. Just post any question, the experts will answer it if it has not already been answered!

The forum has a lot of expert advice on it. http://www.modeeworld.com/forums I found advice there about how to avoid EBAY suspensions, get past PayPal limitations, also lots of detailed help on creating your own business, getting past trademark violations, VERO and lots more. Plus general advice on how best to sell on EBAY, what sells the best, how to get the best price for your product, really everything related to EBAY and internet business.

Also advice about how EBAY really works and how PayPal really works. The inside scoop.

Beautiful forum. I was made a moderator of the forum and I love it!
