For the past two months I have been testing LinkWorth, and now, I have sufficient info and understanding about the system to blog about it. At first it was quite difficult for me to get use to the system interface, it was not the most user-friendly interface. Good thing is they are working on the new interface to simplify the things.

When it comes to publisher programs, the most crucial thing is not the user interface. It’s the performance of the program, and how much money you can make with it. Surprisingly, LinkWorth performed very well on my blog in a short time. First month, just after joining it, I managed to get few links on my blog. Second month (july) total number of links increased to 8 (links are under Monthly Picks section on the left).

So the next payment I will be expecting $395.32 as shown to the right. And since many of the advertisers joined not from the beginning of July, I should be expecting the profit to rise in the month of August. Because at the moment, some advertisers are paying for 10 days of July only, and some maybe for 3 days only. So in August, I will be getting full amount for all the ads.

50/50 or 70/30?
If you choose 50/50 option, you will be getting half of the price of your ads. But the advantage of choosing 50/50 is that, LinkWorth will promote you to the advertisers. That means your site will be seen by the advertisers for sure! You might choose 70/30 but then you have to wait for advertisers to find your site themselves. I personally think, it’s better to choose 50/50 option in the beginning, when you newly join. After you have some loyal advertisers, then you can shift your plan to 70/30.

Rotating Ads
Another good thing is the rotating ads. These are ads by one advertiser that will be rotating every time the page refreshes. This is especially good for advertisers. Because they can pay certain fixed amount, and display different wordings for their campaign. Currently all 8 links on my blog are rotating ads.

Recommendation
I am not sure how it will perform on your blogs, but I highly recommend that you to try it out. After you are approved, take your time to understand the system and the user interface. As I said it’s not the most user friendly system. You can join here www.linkworth.com.

Thanks for the heads up! One more income source, possibly!

Ades thanks for the plug! I’m glad to see you’re doing well. You seem to have great feedback so I might ask you to test our new backend once it’s almost ready to launch. If you are interested, let me know as I would love to get feedback.

Your blog should continue to do well and we’ve just closed a couple of huge advertising companies so the advertisers will begin to roll through.

    Thanks again!

The website is too confusing. Up till now I still can’t figure out how to submit my website for links. Maybe you can write a blog post about it.

  5. By Ades on Jul 27, 2007

Hi Ron, I would be glad to test out the new interface when it’s ready. Please let me know.

  6. By ron on Jul 27, 2007

kuanhoong - can you explain to me where you’re having problems? Submitting your website is as simple as clicking the “SIGNUP” icon on the home page, or really any page, in the top right of the page. It will take you to this page:

    http://www.linkworth.com/signup.php

Complete this simple form, validate your email, login and it will ask you to complete one more form to complete your account. Part of this form is your first website you’ll be listing. Submit this information and once our review process is complete, your website is listed and available to purchase text links on.

Beyond the LinkAds, we have other products you can offer on your site as well. In order to activate these, you can click on the specified product and it will explain how to activate those. Of course, our support is just a support ticket or phone call away.

@Ades - Thank you! I have you down on the list and will contact you when we’re ready.

    Hope this helps!
    Ron

I was about to sign up and then started reading the fine print.. dude..

—- “Your Information” is defined as any information you provide to LinkWorthâ„¢ or other users during registration, in any public message area, on your website or through feedback or any e-mail or form features.
—- To enable LinkWorthâ„¢ to use the information supplied, such that we are not violating any rights you might have in that information, you agree to grant LinkWorthâ„¢ a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license and the right to sub-license (through multiple tiers) to use the copyright, publicity and other intellectual property rights you have in Your Information, in any media now known or not currently known.

If “Your Information” is everything in your blog.. and they have permanent royalty-free license of the intellectual property rights.. shoo…

  8. By ron on Jul 28, 2007

@mike - all it says is you to allow us to use the information ‘you submit to us’. You seemed to have created your own definitely of “Your Information”. Lets say you have a slogan that is a trademark. You have to give us the right to show that information in our system. If you do not allow us, then legally we cannot show it, even though you are submitting it to us for display.

“defined as any information you provide to LinkWorthâ„¢”

If you are still worried, we’ve been in business for 3.5 years…do a search on the net for us using other people’s work. You will not find any issues.

I’m just glad to see someone reads agreements before joining. (applause)

  9. By ron on Jul 28, 2007

    sorry for the confusing type!

“all it says is you to allow us to use” = all it says is you will allow us to use

  10. By mike on Jul 28, 2007

    @ron
If that’s the case (which makes much sense) then the attorneys need to remove the words “on your website” from the definition of “Your Website” from the LinkWorth Terms of Use http://www.linkworth.com/support/terms-popup.php
Those three words clearly indicate that information on MY website and not just “the information ‘you submit to us’” is within grasp.

I have no doubts that LinkWorth has great intentions and is run by honest people. But when signing away assets under a “perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license” agreement it’s best to read the fine print and consider that the company might well be bought out by less well intentioned parties.

    THANKS FOR THE MENTION!!

Have you received payout from them before? Just curious. Since the sites confusing I don’t want to bother looking at it. Since you’re more experience you can tell me. Do these ads need to be clicked on for you to make money?

  13. By Ades on Jul 29, 2007

Hi Michael, yes I have received money from them before. No you don’t need to click on the ads to make money, they are link that are advertised on monthly basis just like Text-Link-Ads.

  14. By emigre on Jul 29, 2007

I’m using LinkWorth and have been paid for a couple of tasks from them. I was on the 70/30 first then I switched to 50/50 but did not see any improvement in number of tasks. In fact I’ve not received any tasks for a while now so I switched back to 50/50.

As for the the links on AdesBlog, you can take part in the links giveaway contest. I submitted my entry over a week ago and am patiently waiting to see if I get a free link - I hope it will be in time for the impending PR update happening anytime now!

Hi. I am wondering where your ads from linkworth are being displayed. You mentioned links on the side under Linkworth friends but I don’t see any. I just want to see how they look like and maybe know how you formated their ad from the one they use by default.

    Thanks,

    Alan

    It’s under “Monthly Picks” now.

I still have to explore the interface, a little bit confusing.

Can this be used together with Text Link Ads? Is there no terms violations for both LinkWorth and TLA?

    hello Ades…

can you please explain shortly how to use the WP plugin?

I choosed to only have ads displayed on all of my pages. I would like to include the links on my sidebar [as you have here], but don’t know exactly which of the two functions to add:

    lw_showads($lw_page=1);

    or

    lw_showads($lw_page=2);

    thanks ;)

  19. By Ades on Aug 21, 2007

Sorry Chris, I am not using their WP plugin. I think it depends on which page you are showing the links, whether it is sitewide or per page advertising… please send them email for support.

Hi. I am a new approved website partner of linkworth just yesterday. I would like to know how can i put those code onto my site. For example onto my sidebar. I just cannot understand the tab navigation on linkworth website. Where should i start? And is css styling allowed for text links? I see your linkworth is put nicely on your ‘monthly picks’. How can i do that. Sorry for asking that. Maybe you can make a special post for this or please give us any link that could give any tutorial/guide about this. Thanks in advance.

  22. By Ades on Oct 10, 2007

Hi Xaer8, you need to wait until someone requests to put a link on your site, then you will get a notification. After you approve the link, you will be displayed a code. Then you can put it on your blog. Now you don’t have to put any code. And yes you can apply css to your codes.

  23. By xaer8 on Oct 10, 2007

Thanks a lot. I thought it was like adsense where i just put a code and wait for advertisers ads to show. Haha.. Again, thanks a lot. - ps: Do not forget malaysia’s first astronaut to be on space tonight at 9pm. :) Malaysia Boleh!

    Hi Ades,

May I know how to change the payment split from 70/30 to 50/50? As a new comer, I certainly hope that the company will help me to advertise rather than for me to simply sleeping and waiting for durian to runtuh. Cheers.

  26. By Ades on Nov 22, 2007

Tada, you need to send an email to support team to get your account changed to 50/50

  27. By Tada on Nov 22, 2007

    Thank you very much, Ades.

    hi there
i accidently stumbled upon ades while trying to find a compact calendar. i have no idea what blogging is and quite frankly don’t understand much of it at all - but it’s facinating reading what people are talking about. where can i go to start learning what you are all doing??

    kind regards

  32. By Ades on Jan 11, 2008

Hi Dhyana, you can start a free blog at blogger.com. If you want to start it on your own domain name, then you need to buy domain name and hosting. I would suggest to start with blogger.com first.

After you create your account there, just play around with it for some time, until you are familiar with the system. It’s not that difficult. If you find it difficult to use the system, be sure to check out their Help section.

Then you can come here to learn more on blogging.

Yes, Linkworth is great and do provide many offers after you sign up.

  36. By Webmaster on Mar 8, 2008

LinkWorth doesn’t work well for me. TLA is better :D

  37. By slsatchel on Mar 20, 2008

For many bloggers their income focus is based on direct methods. Most bloggers have at least tried some advertising, particularly Adsense. There is a massive potential though for earning money indirectly from blogging.

    Hello
I am using linkworth since 3 months. Getting around 50$/month.
Would you suggest going for 50/50 partnership option ?

  39. By Ades on Apr 3, 2008

The thing with 50/50 is that it will stay forever, i.e once you go 50/50 for one advertiser, even if you switch back in the future your payments will still stay as 50/50. so you should decide yourself.

but since your earnings is just picking up, maybe you can go 50/50 for another 3-4 links. and then switch back to 70/30

Hello there! I have received a paid link, I approved, previously I had installed their wp plugin, but now the ad is not showing.

If I linkworth it says: “publishing”…

Do I have to add the code provided close to “publishing” manually to my template or should I wait for my wp plugins to finally publish the link?

    THanks for any answer provided!

  41. By Ades on Apr 10, 2008

Hi Paris, I think it won’t hurt to put a code manually too, just in case if your wp plugin won’t work.

That way if you see double ad, then you can remove one.

  42. By titan on Apr 29, 2008

i’m use 70/30. I’ think its interesting if i change to 50/50. Nothing wrong with that right? Looks like i can change my stragety too.

  43. By water 4 gas on May 1, 2008

I joined it 6 months back and got 2 offers also but never written any review, i keep on getting the alerts that i have not completed the task. I did so because i read in digitalpoint forum (experience from some webmasters) that google might penalize your blog, if you post sponsered post in your blog. and some of the bloggers from digitalpoint forum have been penalized too. so i decided not to take risk because my blog gets more then 60% of traffic from google.

  45. By Ades on May 2, 2008

titan - you know that your 70/30 links will stay as it is even after you change to 50/50 right?

w4g - you should decline the reviews if you do not want to write. yes Google does punish paid reviewers.

merchant - you can choose the manual integration if you want, if the dynamic links are not working for you.

It is always great to find sites that can give you additional income like LinkWorth. Although it’s not so user friendly, you’ll have to take time to understand it, step by step. But as you said, it’s worth trying. I agree that you choose the 50/50 option for starters, so that LinkWorth will be the one to promote you to the advertisers.
