SponsoredReviews.com is watching!

Posted in » Make Money, Online Advertising - by Ades on June 3rd, 2007

Remember I have talked about SponsoredReviews and how one could exploit the system if he wanted and could get a free exposure? Well, Jarrod of SponsoredReview commented on that post and said that they are already monitoring and begun removing reviews if the advertisers are not accepting any bids. Here goes the loophole! ;) Just kidding.

Jarrod also wrote a post at SPblog about publishers’ complain. Apparently most frequent question that SP get from bloggers is: “Why advertisers keep rejecting my bids?”. My answer for that question would be, well that’s because your blog is 2 days old and you have crappy posts!

Recommendation to new bloggers

Instead of monetizing your newly-launched blog right away, work on it for some time (i mean at least few months) and let the content and readership expand. And once you have enough readers and subscribers to your blog’s RSS, only then start to really monetize it. If you want to make serious money, don’t rush to fill your blog with ads and paid posts. Because if you do, you will always be earning that $5.00/review. On the other hand, if you work on the content first, later when the time comes you will be making some big money. From text links, from banners, from paid reviews, from guest blogging… opportunities are endless!

So, if you want to join the ranks of probloggers in the future (or near future), then you should start writing quality content and you should learn to say no to money (to unrelated paid reviews). I hope this was helpful.

Hmm..very true indeed. People like me want quick results without showing results first.

Unless you have a product to promote with your blog(I do), then I suggest you do quality reviews first. It will:

    1- Train you
    2- Show that your capable
3- Show that you are not all about money

I’m a “reviewer” for many review type sites but I only did 1 so far. I don’t jump on everything. I still do “free” reviews if I like the product.

Me, I don’t mind ads on a new blog if it’s done correctly. An Adsense or similar banner is ok to start but not more.

    P.S.
I’m waiting for an advertiser(software) on SR to approve me since May 22. I already check it out and taken notes. Did they read the first post ;)

Ades, yours is a voice of reason in a world of mad money-making bloggers who think that even yesterday is too late to start earning from their rubbish recycled content.
