I have already blogged about SponsoredReviews here, in that post I have talked about its advantages over other networks, where you could save money advertising your product at SponsoredReviews, than using direct reviews through PayPerPost or ReviewMe. Because as I observed, you could get your product reviewed with the same people who charge at ReviewMe a lot more, for a lot less at SP. How come? Because at SP you are the one setting the price, and these same people (most of them are participating in multiple programs) will bid for it, even if the price is lesser than their ReviewMe price.
Anyway, in this post I wanted to talk about another advantage of SponsoredReview. And that is the free exposure that your product gets when you put up your review in the marketplace for bloggers to bid. As you can see from the screenshot, some 192 bloggers bid (and got rejected) for my color picker program. Even though the program didn’t get reviewed on their blog, at least it came to their attention, creating awareness about the product. Next time they see my color picker ad on one site, they will at least know what is this product about. That is the benefit that you do not get in other networks.

SP as Product Promotion
Imagine this situation. You set a high price for your product review, let’s say $200 per review. And if you keep your product open for bidding for a long long time. Can you imagine how many bloggers will bid for it? I am sure, there will be hundreds if not thousands. And if you keep rejecting all their bids, then you don’t even spend a cent for reaching out to that many bloggers.

However it’s not the best way to promote the product in this manner (and also it’s not ethical). Therefore I would suggest to promote it in a normal way, without the machinations. I am sure, bloggers will still bid for it (whatever the number is) and will still see what is your product or site is all about. I am sure if JohnChow knows about this, he will use this tactic to promote his blog! ;)

I have no luck with SponsoredReview so far. Maybe because my blog is still new. Will try again after 2 months.

Totally agreed on the subject, furthermore I got only one SP review which costs 5 of ReviewMe. I think the type of advertisers differs from what I can see.

Review me: Advertisers are desperate to get bloggers to do the reviews. They set the prices and they wait to see who does the reviews.

Sponsored Review: Advertisers set the price range and wait bloggers to bid and they can approve/decline the bloggers. This leaves more productive and effective marketing for advertisers.

That’s a good method. It can act as an extra income while you just sit back and relax and do what you normally do. ;)

    Ades,

Your absolutely right about the free promotion. And I’m glad that advertisers are seeing the advantage to our bidding system.

With that being said, we obviously do not want to waste bloggers time having them bid on opportunities they will never get accepted for. We have already started monitoring advertiser activity and begun to remove their opps if they are not making purchases.

    Thanks for using our system!
