Google algorithm update and its effects on search results

AdesBlog Competition
Good news is that AdesBlog will continue to give away free PR7 links. The algorithm update didn’t affect my blog particularly (but affected other projects). In fact, this competition is working very well. Now my color picker program is on the first page of Google, Yahoo, and MSN Live for the keyword “color picker“.
- Google: page 1, rank 8 )
- Yahoo (page 1, rank 4 )
- MSN (page 1, rank 5 )
These results will definitely change as the days pass, but I hope they will change positively. If everything goes well and if Google won’t come up with another smart algorithm update, then hopefully my target is No.1 spot on all 3 Search Engines.
Before I started this competition, my program was on Page-12 on Google. So this kind of SEO strategy really works. If you haven’t already started similar program (getting links to your site with specific anchor text), you should do so as soon as possible. Because that will make you one step ahead of your competition. I also believe that if you do not rank high on search engines (if your blog is new), then you have nothing to loose. This algorithm update won’t affect you much. It affects the most who are already on top.

I was doing “SEO stuff” without knowing about it. ;)
“MIS specification” is #1 on Google, MSN and #2 on Yahoo.

I think the key is to just blog fairly and not game the system. You have a genuine real product to link to for your link feature anchor text, so Google dont have an issue.
Google dont want the bloggers who are sticking 2 fingers to organic search to be successful because it undermines Googles credibility as a search engine. So why shouldnt they screw up the people who work against their basic aim to bring relevant and meaningful content to the public? If Google don’t twist and turn to redress the balance now and again, who will save us from rubbish content!!!!

Sure Ed, that is expected of Google, to always improve and patch the loopholes in the system.
