Here is a list of blogs that are running different types of competitions where you could win cash or free links:

Kumiko’s Competition

Sabahan’s Competition

  • Free Domain Name
  • Free WordPress Hosting

To participate in the contest, write a review of Sabahan.com and post it to your blog. For every five entries I received, one winner will be selected at random to win a free domain name. contest details here.

Steve’s Competition
He is giving away up to 700 Canadian Dollars, $100 per project. This competition is for software programmers, your objective is to develop a Media Player that can import/read .mis specifications. Full details here.

Carl’s Competition
Carl has turned 14 and decided to run a competition for his birthday. He is truly entrepreneur.

The winner gets the following prizes:

  • Full Site Review – Worth $60
  • Sidebar Ad – Worth $30
  • 2 Month Sidebar Link (Sitewide!) – Worth $30
  • Blog redesign Worth $100!

Happy Birthday Carl (hint: you might want to reduce the requirements) full details here.

Run your own competition
Running your own competition can be hugely successful. Be it just for fun, or for promoting your blog or product. You don’t always have to give money, but if it is not money it should be something that people would want to have (free links, reviews, books, web design service…etc)

In my case, my free backlink competition is working great. It’s already showing results but I will blog about it in detail in the future.

P.S. Feel free to put your competitions in the comments.

You can add my other contest for blogs by spreading the MIS specification($200CAD). I just posted it. You don’t need to be a programmer this time! :) I will let you edit the post.

    Thanks

I’m already in for Kumiko’s competition, but wanted to say that this is great idea to have all those competitions in one place / post. Thanks.

You have posted some more interesting links Ades.

I list some contests from around the internet too, they are included in the first MyBlogLog Sunday post I do every Sunday. I also have a tech competition going on, (called You wont win a Zune!!) Guess what it is from the clues and you can have it. It is driving people mad but maybe a fresh pair of tech head eyes will see it straight away.
