Search over 7 million patents before you make a product

Have a great idea? Are you determined to make that idea a reality? Well, maybe you should check Google Patent Search first, just in case. Just to be sure if someone else didn’t already develop the same product or have patented the idea. If it is a big budget project, this could save you lots of money, so check the patents first at www.google.com/patents

Have you compared the results to the USPTO’s search? Given Google’s logging of your search terms, shouldn’t we be concerned about sharing our great ideas with them directly? ;)

Michael, that’s very interesting question. I think they might analyze the searched keywords and patterns, and maybe forecast the developments of future products. But I don’t think they can get all the info, all your ideas are safe in your head unless you reveal them to Google ;)
