Kontera earnings so far…
About a week ago, I reported that I started using Kontera on this blog and asked if it was okay with you (readers). Only two readers replied and said it was fine with them, they are Spud Oregon and Andrew Ooi. Thanks guys for both of you! So, two positive feedbacks were enough for me to continue using Kontera publisher program.
One week is not much but I think it’s enough time to test the performance of a publisher program. As you can see total earnings are so far $3.69. It’s about .60 cents a day. That’s very few… but I think the performance will increase when Kontera indexes my blog properly and starts showing more relevant ads.
As you can see from this screenshot to the left, John Chow is using kontera too. And his kontera performance is very good - earning him 1K/month, almost same with his Google AdSense earnings.
I will give it a try for another 1 month or 2, and review the program again. If it continues to perform .60 cents a day, I think it’s not worth keeping it. Because as I have mentioned earlier it has some usability issues. Anyway time will tell. www.kontera.com

I was shocked to see John’s revenue from kontera is so close to that of adsense. but then it’s also interesting that he’s making more from text links ads and wow look at that review me sum.

Being a blogger and freeware author, I don’t mind any method that bring money to a site :). Plus, I get free stuff/information from sites without footing the bill. Btw, I also started Kontera last week but I got less than you($0.96 so far) :( for now :)

- Steve, I agree with you that every click counts. However when the program has some disadvantages we have to weigh advantages against the disadvantages and see if it worth doing. If the disadvantages are more, then it’s better to drop the program. But I have a positive expectation about Kontera, let’s wait and see.

Kontera is not that bad considering its contextual and automatic. I have to disagree with the fact that it takes additional work to maintain it. It complies with google’s adsense multiple ads policy as of Arpil the 25th. Fun :)

My experience with Kontera has not been impressive in terms of earnings per click. My article directory, http://www.BestManagementArticles.com, has both adsense and kontera in each page. Adsense revenue averages $0.40/click while Kontera brings in $0.12/click.
Some would probably say that each cent counts, that $0.12 is better than nothing; but I think we need to analyze deeper than that. Each click on kontera effectively takes away the possibility that that same click could have been made on a higher-paying adsense ad.
Any idea on how to increase Kontera’s revenue per click?

Management Warrior, I agree with you. While every click counts, we should always try to maximize the earnings with the best publisher programs.

kontera seems to be perfoeming well for me in comparison to google it seems better and now that it is getting popular with advertisers the cpc will go up…
