john chow\'s secret

JohnChow is a great marketer, there is no doubt about it. He also shares lots of marketing and making money online tips. However this might be the one secret that he didn’t tell you. Here is an interesting post at Nice4Rice dot com titled John Chow Exploited Digital Point Forums.

Author of the article suggests that John Chow actually targeted Digital Point Forums with creative and controversial topic that the thread that he started turned into a debate spanning to 6 pages. John also included the founder of Digital Point, Shawn Hogan in his article (that he posted at DP) which kept the topic more interesting to Digital Point readers.

Author concludes “John attributes much of his success to his Google *%$#@&* article. However, I think it wasn’t so much the article itself, but the way he promoted it.

My Opinion
I personally think John can see those rare-marketing-opportunities that many people do not, and that he seizes those opportunities with great success. You can see that in his article and the way he executed it. He could relate the owner of Digital Point in his article and then he posted the article back in DP, which in turn became the most popular thread and stayed at the first page of discussion form for one month. During this one month, John got thousands of new readers.

As long as John’s strategies do not violate the law and hurt people’s feelings, I am okay with it. We all can learn a lot from him. www.johnchow.com

I agree. He’s not just a great blogger, but a great marketer, and that’s what sets him aparts from many of those who try to emulate his success.

The man is a legend, and is very successful. 99% of the success secret will be openly shared, but the last 1% is the trump card and that we’ll only find out about once he has moved on to the next trick up his sleeve…
