Interview with CEO of Vizu Answers - new publisher program
Derek of Dblogged has interviewed the CEO of Vizu Answers, a new publisher program. Vizu Answers allows you to earn money displaying polls on your site instead of the usual banners or text link ads. Here is a post of my earnings as of last week.
Now I know why Vizu pays based on CPM only, they are trying to prevent fraudulent voting. Below is the excerpt of the interview.
- Dblogged: Who exactly are You?
- Dan: My name is Dan Beltramo and I am the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Vizu Answers
- Dblogged: Why did you choose the CPM model? Wouldn’t it make more sense to pay per vote considering that is what Advertisers are looking for?
- Dan: We chose CPM to minimize the incentive for click fraud - fake clicks, incentivized voting, etc.
- Dblogged: Since you decided to minimize click fraud, how do you stop the publisher from hiding the poll at the bottom of their website?
- Dan: Before we start a market research campaign with a market researcher, the research clients are asked to look at each publisher pge to see where their poll is placed. If the research client doesn’t like where the poll is placed, they do not have to pick it. In addition, Vizu currently records votes per impression, but it isn’t available as of yet to research clients, but there is a possibility of it being available in the near future as they plan to improve their data reporting capabilities.
